A large bottle only fits diagonally and still not all the way down. You have to empty some water and squeeze it to fit horizontally. That's why 4 stars. I think in this size of a cooler it should be designed to fit. It keeps the products cold for up to seven hours that I have kept it at the beach with four ice packs (two large and two small). I have put 1 large water, 5 sandwiches in aluminum foil, 2 children's juice boxes, and 3 to 4 fruits
