  • You can smell the alcohol as soon as you bring the glass close; better than Bacardi, Havana Club, and Captain Morgan Dark, but inferior to Chairman's Reserve.

  • In a narrow-mouthed glass it concentrates intense alcohol on the nose. The first sip cannot be assessed immediately. If you keep going, you discover an aftertaste of black tea, butter caramel, and cinnamon. Definitely neat, perhaps a little chilled.
Unbeatable at this price (which is also its huge advantage). More specifically, superior to Sailor Jerry, easily beats Pampero Anivercario, and looks down on the rest in the same price range. Of course, it lacks the top notes that elevate the big names in the category, but for €20 you get a respectable rum.

  • At this price, there is no rum that can compete with it. Comparable or even better than those costing 50-60 euros

  • In terms of its price, it is one of the good dark rums. It doesn't have a complex taste and you can taste the alcohol, but it is the classic flavor you want in a rum. It is slightly below Diplomatico but better than Black Havana and Captain Morgan.

  • Young black rum with very good value for money, with notes of caramel and vanilla, quite "alcoholic" in the mouth. It is easier to drink with plenty of ice or in a cocktail.

Description & Specifications

Plantation Original Dark combines the rich and intense style of Jamaica and Barbados with the meticulous aging technique carried out in France. The result is a smooth-textured and deeply structured rum with spicy notes of cinnamon and clove. Dry and fruity at first with raisins and dried pineapple. Hints of black pepper, clove, cinnamon, roasted cherry, plum, molasses, notes of forest leaves, and black tea. Its aftertaste is of medium duration with a spicy and dry finish. It can be served neat, with ice and lime, and of course, it can be the base for many cocktails.
