It was extremely difficult for the extension bar at the bottom to be fit into the groove on the ladder body (need to use hammer to knock the bar into place), and the holes for the two bolts are not aligned precisely. You may need to use a drill to clear the path for the bolts, so that the bar can be secured on the ladder.
