Karin Slaughter
Born in 1971 in Georgia, USA, Slaughter distinguished herself from other mystery authors with her very first book, titled "Blindsighted" (2001), which was honored with the Crime Writers’ Association’s Dagger Award. This was followed by the CWA Ian Fleming Steel Dagger Award and eighteen more books that have been translated into thirty-seven languages and have sold over 35,000,000 copies. It has also been announced that one of these books will be the basis for a major new Netflix production. In addition to being an author, Slaughter is one of the founding members of the non-profit organization 'Save the Libraries', through which she advocates for the preservation of public libraries.
