Nikolaos Papachatzis

Nikolaos Papachatzis (Farsala, 1910 - Athens, 2002) studied archaeology in Thessaloniki and served in the Archaeological Service and education (at the "Anatolia" College in Thessaloniki). He focused particularly on issues of ancient Greek religion and topography and published numerous studies in scientific journals. However, his most significant work is the multi-volume annotated edition of the text of the ten books of the ancient traveler Pausanias's work "Description of Greece."
