Giorgos Panagoulopoulos

George Panagoulopoulos was born in Pyrgos, Ilia. Since 1943, he has been residing permanently in Athens. He studied Law and practiced as a lawyer for a short period. In 1951, 1952, and 1953, he worked as a journalist for the newspaper "Progressive Change," and in 1954 for "Eleftheros," published by Dimitris Pournaras. He primarily focused on court reporting, covering the trials of Belogiannis, Ploumbidis, and the trial of the aviators, which has become a landmark in the history of political intolerance. In 1961, he co-published the literary magazine "Iolkos" with poet Yiannis Koridis. He has been extensively involved in theater criticism and is a member of the Theater Critics Association. His engagement with literature began in his early youth, and he has collaborated with the magazine "Odysseus," published during the Italian occupation in Pyrgos.
