Tasos Kourakis

Tasos Kourakis was born in Thessaloniki in 1948. He is an associate professor at the School of Medicine of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in the Genetics Laboratory. He has published the poetry collections: "Tracing the Present," Paratiritis Publishing, 1995, "Lake Victoria," Paratiritis Publishing, 1997, "Words Shine, Always Flourish," Indiktos Publishing, 2002, "IEROTIKON," Ianos Publishing, 2009, as well as a collection of essays, "The Deviants," Paratiritis Publishing, 2002. Since 2007, he has been a Member of Parliament for SYRIZA in Thessaloniki's 1st District. In January 2015, he assumed the position of Deputy Minister of Education.
