Elena Patrikiou

Elena Patrikiou, a historian, director, and author, held a Ph.D. in the history of ancient Greek culture and classical philology. She taught at the Department of Theatre Studies at the University of the Peloponnese. Her research and publications focused on the anthropological and theatrical interpretation of ancient Greek tragedy, as well as on the reception of ancient Greek culture in modern poetry and theater, and the history of the formation of modern Greek consciousness in the 19th and 20th centuries. She was the daughter of the poet Titos Patrikios. She passed away on May 6, 2020.
