Agelos Liapis

Angelos Liapis was born in Pefkofyto, Kastoria. He lives and creates in Thessaloniki. He holds a degree from the Faculty of Law and the Department of Public Law of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and he has completed postgraduate studies in Criminal Law. In 1979, he entered the judiciary and, after progressing through the ranks, he currently holds the position of President of the Court of Appeals. As a writer, he is considered a genuine representative of lyrical poetry, with literary works distinguished by their spontaneous inspiration and the quality of his writing. His work is included in: a) the Literary Creation of Northern Greece, which documents and systematically presents the most important writers of Northern Greece from 1875 to 2007, b) the Dictionary of Greek Intellect, published by the Amphictyony of Hellenism, c) the Poetry Anthology of the Members of the Union of Writers of Northern Greece, d) anthologies of erotic poetry, e) the Encyclopedia of Northern Greek Writers published by the Music Society of Northern Greece. He has published numerous poetry collections included in his books "The Moon Was a Girl," "A Window to the Sun," "Blooming Flames," and "The Paths of Birds." He also published the books "The Rascals of Sin Street" and "Innocent e-Crimes." The first includes twenty-five humorous essays mainly based on cases he experienced in his judicial capacity, depicting in miniature the everyday Greek social reality. The second vividly sketches the personality of a charismatic hero who discovers an original and exciting way to live passionately and intensely in the most inaccessible corners of the planet. For his entire body of work and his contribution to Greek literature, he has been repeatedly honored by various intellectual organizations. He is a member of scientific and literary associations, such as the Union of Writers of Northern Greece, the Society of Writers of Northern Greece, and the Society of Macedonian Studies.
