Ioannis A. Pikoulas

Giannis Ant. Pikoulas is a Professor of Ancient Greek History at the University of Thessaly - Department of History, Archaeology, and Social Anthropology (IAKA) and the editor of the international journal of classical studies, HOROS. Born and raised in Athens (1956), he has strong roots in the Peloponnese and refugee heritage. He has published ten monographs and has edited eighteen volumes. His publications in Greek and international journals or conference proceedings exceed 190. His main focus is on Historical Topography and Epigraphy, as well as the material culture of the ancients, such as viticulture-wine production and olive production. His research primarily covers the Peloponnese (Argolid-Corinthia, Arcadia, Laconia), Thessaly, and Macedonia, as well as Asia Minor.
