
Elli Giotopoulou - Sisilianou
Elli Giotopoulou-Sicilianos was born in Corfu, where she spent her early childhood years. She graduated from the Department of History and Archaeology at the University of Athens and earned her doctorate from the University of Thessaloniki.
In the early phase of her career, she was involved in secondary education as a teacher at the American College for Girls (1946-1965). In February 1965, she was elected as a member of the then newly established Pedagogical Institute, which was responsible for implementing the Educational Reform of 1964, where she remained until it was abolished by the military junta (1967).
A member of the teaching staff at the University of Crete (1979-1981), she was elected as a professor at the Ionian University and became a member of its Governing Committee from its founding (1984). She served as the President of the Governing Committee of the Ionian University from 1990 to 1993.
