Elissavet Perakaki

Elisavet Perakaki holds a Ph.D. in Music Education from the Department of Music Studies in Athens (2009) and is a graduate of the same department (1997). She has been teaching music in public education since 1998. She is a certified guitarist from the National Conservatory and has studied advanced music theory. From 1998 to 2003, she collaborated with conservatories and music schools, teaching guitar and theoretical courses. During the same period, she worked with the Lilian Voudouri Great Music Library, writing presentations of English and German books. She has participated in numerous seminars with announcements and workshops focused on music education. Her scientific interests include integrating thinking skills into school music activities and finding engaging ways to approach students during music lessons through active music listening, performance, and composition. She is the author of the books "Designing the School Music Lesson" and "Playing Music with Boomwhackers" (Athens: Fagotto, 2008, 2009). She maintains a blog at perakaki.wordpress.com.
