Alexandra Zavvou

Alexandra Zavvou is pursuing her doctoral dissertation at Manchester Metropolitan University on the topic "Gender, Migration, and the Anti-Racist Movement in Athens." She holds a master's degree in Critical Psychology (MMU) and a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Panteion University. For several years, she has been trained in the Systemic Approach and Group Process at the Athenian Center for Human Studies. In the past, she has collaborated with OKANA on prevention programs and with the non-governmental organization ARSIS - Social Support Organization for Youth. She has also worked in research and education for the "Muslim Children's Education Program" at the University of Athens. She participates as a principal researcher in the European program GeMIC. She has published articles on feminist methodology and the gendered construction of the migration experience in English and German scientific journals and in the collective volume "Minorities and Migrants: The Importance of 'Experience' in Social Research" (edited by Fotini Tsibiridou, KEMO publications).
