Peter Wilson

Peter Wilson was born and educated in Sydney, Australia, and received his Ph.D. from Cambridge. Before becoming a Fellow and Tutor in Classics at New College, Oxford, and a University Lecturer, he held various research and teaching positions at Cambridge, Oxford, and the University of Warwick. He currently serves as a Professor of Classics in the Department of Classics and Ancient History at the University of Sydney. His primary research interests and publications focus on ancient Greek theater, particularly its history and social function, archaic poetry and society in general, as well as ancient Greek music.
