
Giorgos Mpardis
Giorgos Bardis was born in Volos in 1926. He spent his childhood in Volos and completed his studies at a commercial school in 1945. In 1948, he was drafted into the military and served for thirty-six months as a reserve officer. After his discharge, he ventured into the olive trade and later into the distillery business. He participated in the Volos Distillers' Association, having established a modern distillery named "Iolkos Distillery" in the industrial area of Volos. As an amateur, he engaged in journalism, publishing travel writings, impressions, and commentary about the lives of the residents of Katichori in the municipality of Portaria, and the surrounding area, in newspapers such as "Thessalia," "Tachydromos," and "Proti."
