On New Year's Eve, you should dress up and welcome the new year with joy.

# Invited to an official reception

New Year’s Eve is the only day of the year when we can enjoy luxury and be more formal than ever. So if you have an invitation to a more glamorous gala at a hotel or a similar occasion, you need to be more than elegant. You will need a suit, preferably black or in a dark color, that fits you perfectly and a white shirt. You can pair it with a solid-colored tie or even a bow tie and complete your outfit with black patent leather or leather dress shoes.  

Finally, if you want to elevate your look, you can choose a pair of cufflinks or a pocket square. 

# Dinner with your partner

If you prefer to spend New Year's Eve in a modern restaurant in a more intimate setting, whether with your partner or with a few close people, you should be elegant and well-dressed, but at the same time you can also be a little more casual. So, to avoid the formal choice of a suit, you can wear a slim-fit blazer paired with a stylish dress pants. A shirt is not necessary for this occasion, as you can wear a turtleneck and complete your outfit with comfortable oxford shoes.

# Clubbing with friends until dawn

If you are one of those who want to spend the first hours of the year with a big group, music, dancing and alcohol, you have more outfit options, depending on the venue you choose to go to. Certainly, though, you should choose a relaxed outfit that will make you feel comfortable all night long. You can wear a dark chino pants paired with a lighter-colored shirt or a long-sleeved Polo top. Certainly, you should pair them with a leather jacket to give your look a more modern rock tone and complete your outfit with leather ankle boots. 

# Family gathering at home

In this case, there are no formalities. You’ll be with your family and loved ones, eating, laughing, maybe playing cards or board games, and you’ll wear your warmest clothes to welcome the new year. So choose your favorite jeans, pair it with a T-shirt in the color you like, and wear a knit cardigan for a stylish yet cozy outfit. You can complete your look with comfortable sneakers or combat boots.
