5 smart tips for effective ironing!
To finish ironing quickly, but also to do a proper job, you only need to pay attention to these five points:
1. Use an ironing system or steam press
Choose an ironing system or steam press instead of a regular iron. Ironing takes half the time and the result is better. See our detailed guide and choose the best steam iron with boiler for you!
2. Spread and fold clothes properly
Once you collect the clothes from the drying rack or dryer, fold them and separate them according to the closet or drawer they will end up in. For example, put all your t-shirts together, all the underwear of each family member together, separate all the towels, etc. This way, as you iron, you will automatically create the correct piles of clothes for storage, saving a lot of time.
3. Fold sheets and towels correctly
There is no need to iron towels and sheets individually. Fold them 2, 4, or even 6 times and then iron them. The steam will penetrate all layers of the fabric anyway.
4. Turn the clothes inside out
Before ironing the pants, turn them inside out and start ironing from their pockets.
5. Place the clothes on hangers
Clothes that will go on hangers should ideally be placed on their hangers shortly after ironing and not while they are still hot, to avoid taking the shape of the hanger.
Tips: Add aluminum foil under the ironing board cover to reflect the heat from the iron and make your clothes iron faster and easier.
If you follow even some of the above tips, you will notice a big difference in the time and energy you spend on these tasks.
