3+1 λάθη που καταστρέφουν τα ρούχα

3+1 λάθη που καταστρέφουν τα ρούχα

No matter how expensive or high-quality your clothes are, if you don't take care of them properly, they will quickly lose their beautiful appearance.

See below the four mistakes that you probably make on a daily basis with your knitwear and jeans, unintentionally ruining even your most beloved pieces:

1. You are storing your sweaters the wrong way

Do you hang your sweaters on hangers? Big mistake! According to fashion experts, this way knits lose their shape and "sag", and it is also possible for pulls to form that will ruin their appearance. The correct way to store them is to fold them carefully and place them in one of the drawers or shelves of your wardrobe.

2. You Don't Take Care of Your Knits

No matter how high-quality a knit is, it is likely that after some time, it will develop "pills" and fuzz. To remove them and make your knit look new again, use a fabric shaver to refresh its appearance.

3. You Don't Follow Washing Instructions

Before you cut off the white tag inside your clothes, which often causes itching, take a look at the washing instructions. It is extremely important to wash clothes at the temperature indicated in the instructions to prevent them from shrinking. If you want the colors to remain as bright as possible, turn your clothes inside out before putting them in the washing machine and add color catchers if you are not washing them by color (whites, blacks, colored).

Of course, pay close attention to those that require hand washing. For example, prefer to wash sweaters by hand in lukewarm or cold water and then, after wringing them out, lay them flat on the drying rack without clothespins.

4. You wash them too often

I know it sounds illogical, but perhaps washing too frequently is what ultimately ruins your clothes. Of course, I'm not saying you shouldn't wash them if they have a stain or smell. It's obvious that they should go in the washing machine in those cases. However, there are some clothes, like jeans and knits, that wear out faster the more often you wash them. The general rule is that cotton, cashmere, and silk sweaters should be washed after two or three wears, wool after five wears, and jeans just 1-2 times a month.
