Having tried countless foundations, from the most expensive to the most affordable, I have concluded that currently, there are releases from the drugstore category that "compete" worthily with expensive products, as they combine excellent results at economical prices. 

The True Skin Foundation by CATRICE is a prime example of this, as since its release in 2021 and when it came into my hands, it has never left my collection.

So, after three years, it has become a staple choice for my daily (and not only) makeup, and it is a foundation that is definitely worth trying if you are looking for something that combines coverage and a flawless result at an affordable price!

In this review, I will explain all the reasons why I love it and why I recommend it to you, with my eyes closed.

What I look for in a daily foundation: 

• Buildable coverage
• Natural finish, that doesn't look cakey on the face
• Lightweight texture, that doesn't "crack"
• Long-lasting

What it promises:

Packaging:

The True Skin by Catrice, from the moment it was released, caught my attention. It comes in an elegant glass bottle, with its own pump and the rose-gold cap that perfectly completes the image. It is well-crafted, with a minimal font that lists the main features and gives you the feeling that you are holding an expensive and definitely well-made product in your hands.

Recommendation:

Having oily skin, hydrating foundations are usually a "no-go" for me. However, what makes True Skin unique is its wonderful formulation, which can adapt to all skin types and beautifully enhance the complexion. 

It offers medium coverage, which you can build up to achieve full coverage, and has a lightweight, creamy texture that provides comfort and flexibility in application. It contains hyaluronic acid for hydration and watermelon seed oil, has a second skin effect, and gives a semi-matte finish, which I particularly love, without adding extra oiliness to the "problem" areas.

In conclusion, I must mention that its longevity throughout the day is excellent. Certainly, after 7-8 hours, there will be some minor alterations, but nothing that can't be immediately fixed with a light retouch. At the end of the day, it remains beautiful on my skin, without excessive oiliness, and fades evenly without leaving patches.

Application:

Moving on to the application and as I mentioned earlier, True Skin is a foundation that comes with a lightweight, creamy texture, making its application... a "breeze"! 

You can apply it either with a buffing brush or a makeup sponge to achieve a flawless result, as I find that it works excellently with both methods I've tried. Similarly, if you're in a hurry, you can even apply it with your hands, as it spreads effortlessly and literally "glides" over the skin.

Tips:

• If you have oily skin (like me) and are "afraid" of hydrating foundations, lightly set the result with a powder to "lock" away any oiliness.
• One pump of True Skin is enough to cover your entire face!
• No need to "stress" during application, as it doesn't dry quickly, so you have all the time to apply it at your leisure!

In conclusion, if you are looking for a daily, affordable but good foundation, CATRICE's True Skin is for you! 

Regardless of your skin type, the only sure thing is that it can adapt everywhere and highlight your skin in the best possible way!
