The concealer, along with mascara (and blush), is one of those beauty products that takes center stage in every makeup look, from the most natural to the most dramatic!

As for concealer, which is the topic of today’s article, it is without a doubt a product that can instantly brighten the eyes, give us a rested look, and cover any “imperfections”. 

But how many times, due to incorrect application, have we achieved the opposite result? 

It is not uncommon for concealer to crease into fine lines during the day, or even disappear altogether. However, this is something that can be fixed right away, with a few very easy and quick tips that will ensure the ideal application and lasting wear!

1. Proper hydration

I honestly can’t recall how many times these words have passed through my keyboard. Proper hydration is a fundamental principle, not only in makeup but also in a broader sense, so that we have a healthy body and healthy skin. The eye area is no exception, so for a flawless concealer application, use an eye cream with a lightweight texture that absorbs immediately to properly prepare it and prevent the concealer from creasing!

2. Choose the right concealer for you

The texture of the concealer you choose largely determines the result and how it applies. Drier concealers tend to “break” more quickly and settle into fine lines. Ideally, you can choose a more “flexible” or lighter concealer for everyday use, while if you want more coverage, you can go for a more “heavy-duty” concealer, but use a smaller amount so the result doesn’t look cakey. Less is more!

3. Applying concealer with the right tools

Proper application, as is logical, also delivers the “right” results! For a more natural finish, apply a small amount with a concealer brush only to the areas you want to cover and then, with your fingers, gently pat the area. The warmth of your fingers will help the concealer blend effortlessly and give you a perfect, radiant result! Likewise, makeup sponges will help you achieve a flawless application, while, if you want more coverage, you can “build” the result with small amounts that are easier to manage.

4. “Lock” the result with a loose powder

To extend the wear of your concealer and prevent creasing in fine lines, after applying it, set the eye area with a loose powder to “lock” it in place and keep it from “moving.” You don’t need to apply a large amount of powder; with a fluffy brush (or a sponge), apply a small amount and the result won’t disappoint you!
