Samsung Galaxy Fold 6: Thinner, smarter

Samsung Galaxy Fold 6: Thinner, smarter

The main star of the Unpacked event was the Samsung Galaxy Fold 6. The big "sibling" among the foldable models of the Korean company comes with changes in dimensions, screen, and weight. The new foldable weighs 239 grams and is 1.2 millimeters thinner when folded and 0.5 millimeters thinner when open.

We could say that the Korean company chose a more "squared" approach reminiscent of the Galaxy S24 Ultra and is made from reinforced aluminum. The front and back are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and the folding mechanism has also been updated.

Both of its screens are AMOLED. The internal one is 7.6 inches with a resolution of 2160x1856 pixels. Externally, we have a 6.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a resolution of 2376x968 pixels. Both come with a refresh rate of 1-120Hz and HDR10+ support. Inside the phone, we find the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with performance that is much better than last year's model. Additionally, we find 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and storage options of 256GB/512GB/1TB.

Its battery has a capacity of 4400mAh and supports fast charging wirelessly and wired, as well as wireless charging for other devices. In terms of cameras, we have the exact same ones as last year, but with the company's ProVisual Engine that improves the final result. AI helps with zoom and shots, as well as processing the material you have already recorded.

In terms of software, finally, we have Android 14 with One UI 6.1.1 and the basic AI functions that we saw a few months ago in Samsung smartphones, such as Google Circle to Search. The Samsung Galaxy Fold 6 is available in Greek stores from July 24 in Silver Shadow, Craft Black, Navy, and Pink colors with prices starting from €2099 and reaching €2199 and €2439.
