Book Annotation: Τι είναι και πως να το πετύχεις!
Everything you need to bring the most fun bookish hobby to life.
Do you love books and every time you read you want to remember so many things, from quotes to favorite scenes?
Do you constantly want to comment on certain choices or do you often wish you could jump into the pages of the book and put things in order, because no matter how much you scream (like “the killer is right behind you” or “what kind of red flag behavior was that? get away from him/her” and similar things) they can’t hear you?
I’ve got you! It’s called book annotation (kind of like a footnote or, in other words, commenting on the book within the book!) and it’s the super fun bookish thing you can do!
Let's see what you will need and how it's done!
Let me start by telling you that there are many different ways and you can choose the one that suits you best, or even combine more than one.
- If we assume that you don't want to write on the book, then sticky notes are here for you! Available in a wide variety of designs, sizes, and colors, they are the ideal solution to choose whichever you prefer and write down all your thoughts or... objections about the developments!
- The transparent sticky notes do something magical. You can stick them over the phrase or quote you’ve picked out, and as soon as you open the page, your eyes go straight to that spot.
- And so you don't have to search through the whole book to find the page or something you want to remember, annotation is the solution. Have you seen those rows of sticky page markers? That’s exactly what they’re for! Every time you come across something interesting, you peel one off the pack and stick it to the book.
Pro tip! Choose and place the page markers on one side of the book and at different points, so that they create a rainbow effect. Or a fan... however you see it! For even more pro annotation, choose page markers in a color palette that matches the cover, and get ready for a result that will take the process to the next level!

If you’re okay with making notes in your book, any kind of pen, pencil or highlighter can take your reading experience to another level!
And of course, here are some tips!
- The first tip is, of course, colors. You can play with the color combinations of the cover so that there is harmony both outside and inside the book!
- The next tip is about marking. Draw a heart where there’s something you loved. A star for something you want to remember. An exclamation mark for a phrase that’s a note to self, etc. In general, create your own code and you’ll see that when you open the book again, you’ll see it with completely different eyes.
And a pro tip for the end! Choose products suitable for the book you have in front of you. For most books, HB pencils are usually friendlier to the pages, as are ballpoint pens most of the time. Finally, make sure the highlighters you choose don’t leave too much color so it doesn’t transfer to the back of the page. And of course, wait for it to dry before closing the book!
The basic principles of book annotation, everything, quickly and with tips are now in your hands. All you need is to get the essentials and start creating!
Enjoy!
