- Open: Faster and easier aiming as it does not obstruct the user's field of view. However, the shaft may move if the speargun is turned upside down.
- Roller: It uses pulleys (rollers) to increase the power and speed of the speargun, resulting in greater accuracy and range.
- Closed: Secure shaft retention and quick reloading. However, it may obstruct the field of view and make aiming more difficult.
- Short (<80 cm): Suitable for murky waters & fishing on rocks.
