In-the-Ear (ITE): The earphone is adjusted to the outer auditory canal and the cochlea of the ear wing.
Behind-the-Ear (BTE): The hearing aid is placed behind the ear and a transparent tube directs the amplified sound into a small tip that fits inside the outer ear canal.
Completely-in-Canal (CIC): The hearing aid is fully placed inside the ear canal and is minimally visible.
In-the-Canal (ITC): It is similar to "completely-in-the-canal," but it does not go as deep into the ear.
