The present Dictionary, the work of an internationally renowned linguist of the past century, contains all the roots and all the themes of the words found in ancient Greek texts. During its translation from German, Professor Antonios Papanikolaou corrected all kinds of errors that had escaped the author's attention in the original German version and additionally added a table of hundreds of words that are not separately found in the familiar alphabetical order, but their etymology is found within the interpreted entries of the word, e.g. the word "agyrtes" is not found as a separate entry, but within the interpreted entry of "ageiro". Compounds and derivatives, whose etymological relationship to the familiar entries is obvious, are omitted, making the Dictionary concise without sacrificing clarity and methodicalness.
