The strap can be attached to both the left and right Joy-Con. The SL button changes to the SR button depending on whether the strap is connected to the left or right Joy-Con.

It snaps into the inner part of the controller so you don't lose the Joy-Con while playing. The push-in lock prevents the strap from coming off.
