The inertial tanks maintain the water at a high temperature for a long time, providing hot water when the boiler stops working or when the solar collector no longer produces due to lack of sunlight.

Similarly, they can store cold water, with the only difference being that instead of being connected to a boiler or collectors, they are connected to water coolers.
