The series SIGNALS - Contemporary Approaches to Ancient Greek Literature aspires to include interpretative works by Greek and foreign scholars of ancient Greek literature. These works will consist either of the personal contribution of a single author or will stem from a collective effort - in other words, they will be volumes prepared by teams of specialists.

The focus of interest in each book will be the serious scientific approach and in-depth presentation of a specific topic of broader interest regarding the ancient Greek literary tradition. This collective volume aims to provide an analytical presentation of contemporary interpretative trends in the study of ancient Greek tragedy through a series of autonomous thematic sections.

Specialized researchers illuminate multiple facets of Attic theater and approach a number of tragic works both interpretively and performance-wise. All ancient Greek excerpts are rendered in modern Greek.
