Description

The Roe & Co whiskey is an Irish blend whiskey, made from a selection of the finest Irish malt and grain whiskeys and matured in 100% Bourbon barrels, a large percentage of which are fresh. It was created by blender Caroline Martin, who has over 30 years of experience. Non-chill filtered, Roe & Co is bottled at 45% ABV, higher than usual, and combined with the perfect balance of malt and grain whiskeys, it is a blend that is ideal for cocktails.

In its tasting characteristics, the smooth, sweet vanilla and spicy pears stand out, leaving a silky sensation in the mouth and a prolonged aftertaste.

  • for its price it is perfect, one of the nicest Irish I have drunk, I love it and I always have it in my cellar

  • I think it is one of the most honest whiskies at the price up to $50. Personally, I consider it better than the equivalent Jameson, Bushmill. It is easy to drink with a vanilla aftertaste, I prefer it without water.

Aromatic, slightly sweet in the background, rich flavor. I would rank it a notch above Jameson Black Barrel, and two above Bushmills Black Bush, speaking of Irish whiskeys in this category. Without water of course, preferably cool, and let it sit in the glass for a bit to release its aromas. It has become one of my very honest favorites

  • Soft, with fragrances, with water it becomes even better for me. I have tried more expensive ones that are not as good. For my tastes, the best at 30 euros

"sweet vanilla and spicy pears"; probably not
I expected it to be different.. definitely a quite decent whiskey, but the character described is somewhat far from reality, or at least I can't delve into and taste those notes of spicy pears..
but I don't think I'm that off point, so, overall good but overpriced for what it offers.. at the same price, Jameson Black Barrel is quite better.

Because here we are filled with literally clueless people, as far as I understand, I will say the following. It belongs to the category of IRISH, and Irish whiskies have these smooth characteristics and CANNOT be compared to Scotch whisky. This particular one is a blended malt whiskey and an excellent choice for cocktails. All you dry people should stop saying that it's not worth its money, and also educate yourselves about its category and the other labels (ALWAYS TALKING ABOUT IRISH) it competes with. Can you believe someone comparing it to Johnny Black? We will go completely crazy

I tried it immediately after a red label and it was definitely better. Less alcohol taste and overall you feel like you're drinking something better. For a blended whiskey, I admit that it is smooth but it doesn't have anything special in the nose or in the mouth. If I compare it to the black barrel, which is more or less the same price, it falls behind a lot. Also, if you sit and think that you can get Glenfiddich for the same price, it's definitely not worth it. I don't consider it a bad whiskey, just boring.

I had bought it after reading the good reviews and I was disappointed. Good nose, quite creamy, but I consider the taste to be fairly bad. By far the worst Irish whiskey I have tried, even cheaper ones like Tullamore are much better.

It has a nice aroma like many others in its category, what I liked was the taste it leaves in your mouth. Personally, I would drink it again just for the aftertaste it leaves!

Weak nose, average body, nonexistent aftertaste.
I had it in mind and found it in a supermarket for 27 euros. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. No comparison even with economical Scottish single malts (Robert Burns, Pulteney 12, Glenfiddich, etc). Even the Bushmills Black Bush or Tullamore 12, I remember them much superior.
I don't know if Diageo is really aiming for a cocktail whiskey (I don't drink cocktails) but for sipping, it doesn't work. I am forced to drink twice as much as usual because the aftertaste is truly nonexistent. After 3 minutes, every taste of whiskey is gone from the mouth.

The most flavorful among the Irish whiskeys that one can easily find (Jameson/Black, Bushmills/Black, Tullamore). It doesn't need anything more than being slightly chilled (ideally with whiskey rocks because even the slightest hint of water diminishes its unique taste). It's worth the money!
