I have had the screen for a few months now. The screen is amazing.
In games, even though I have fewer FPS at 1440 compared to 1080 with my old screen, I have fewer "stutters" (comparing the same game, same settings but higher resolution). The image is smoother. As for the color quality, it's not even up for discussion, it's incredible.

Also, for the graphics work I do, day and night compared to other screens, the colors are vibrant and accurate. I now get frustrated with my office screen.

The curve of the screen is not really noticeable, you don't "perceive" it when you work or play, but at the same time, things at the edges don't seem farther away than those in the center.
With my previous screen, if I sat more "relaxed" in my chair and a bit farther away from the screen, I would have to move windows to the center to read the text, but with this one, I don't have to do that anymore.

The viewing angle is very wide, really, I didn't expect to see the image even when I'm almost vertical.

The arm is very stable and sturdy, it takes up quite a bit of depth from the desk, so if you have limited space, you might have an issue, but I don't have any problem with it taking up depth.

It is very bright. VERY! I have it at 15% brightness, only increasing it for games or movies.

I have connected it with DP and it required driver installation to be recognized, so you install the drivers before removing your old screen, or you connect it first with HDMI, install the drivers, and then connect it with DP.

Overall, the screen is amazing from every aspect. Others have also mentioned it below.

Regarding the friend who mentioned an issue with the text, I don't know if they received a faulty model and I didn't check the link they provided, but for me, the text is crystal clear and normal as one would expect.

In short, I am completely satisfied from every aspect. I highly recommend it if it fits your budget.

Δυστυχώς τα είδα αυτά αφού το αγόρασα. Όσο καλό ήταν για gaming άλλο τόσο για το ανάθεμα για κείμενα ή άλλη δουλειά γραφείου. Μην αναφερθώ στην βάση που θέλει μισό γραφείο και βάθος γηπέδου... DOA, επιστροφή και πάμε για IPS.

Η οθόνη τα σπάει. Ήμουν πολύ επιφυλακτικός στην αρχή μιας και διάβαζα διάφορα για καμμένα Pixel και άσχημο Luminance Uniformity, αλλά επειδή Samsung ήταν και η προηγούμενη οθόνη μου που έτρεχε απροβλημάτιστα για 8+ χρόνια (την έδωσα σε φίλο και κατενθουσιάστηκε παρόλο την ηλικία της) είπα να τη δοκιμάσω.

Πρώτη μέρα λοιπόν, ξεπακετάρω και βλέπω στην βάση της ένα χτύπημα στο πλαστικό στην πίσω πλευρά. Αδύνατο να έγινε είτε από μένα είτε από την μεταφορική στο σημείο που ήταν. Αφού είναι σε σημείο που δεν το βλέπεις ποτέ (πίσω μέρος του σταντ) συνέχισα την συναρμολόγησή της. Όλα τα τεστ τα πέρασε με ακρίβεια. Καταπληκτικό Luminance Uniformity το οποίο να σημειώσω ότι "έστρωσε" την τρίτη μέρα χρήσης και τα όποια backlight bleeds που είχε αν και απειροελάχιστα τα έβλεπε κανείς εξαφανίστηκαν ως δια μαγείας. Δεν πρόλαβα να χαρώ για την επιλογή μου και την τέταρτη μέρα μία συστοιχία καμμένων-κολλημένων Pixel σε δύο σημεία πάνω στην μέση και κάτω δεξιά εμφανή και τα δύο.

Το Service της Samsung είναι ένα από τα καλύτερα θέλω να σημειώσω και αμέσως προθυμοποιήθηκαν να την αντικαταστήσουν με καινούργια αφού πληρούσα τους όρους DOA. Μέσα σε περίπου 2 εβδομάδες είχα στα χέρια μου την αντικαταστάτρια οθόνη.

Αυτή τη φορά το ίδιο "χτύπημα" που στην προηγούμενη είχα στο σταντ το είχα στο κάτω μέρος του πλαισίου και φαίνεται αν το κοιτάξεις επίμονα. Πάνω στην αγωνία μου όμως να έχω ένα αξιόπιστο πάνελ δεν έδωσα και τόση σημασία. Για τις πρώτες 14 ημέρες (όσο διαρκεί και το DOA από το κατάστημα που την πήρα εντός Ελλάδος), όλα φαινόντουσαν καλά. 0 καμμένα πιξελ ΑΛΛΑ το Luminance Uniformity ενώ στην πρώτη οθόνη έφυγε μετά τις πρώτες ημέρες σε αυτήν όχι μόνο παρέμενε αλλά γινόταν και χειρότερο. Άκουσα ότι δεν μπορείς να επιστρέψεις οθόνη λόγω αυτού και είπα να μην ασχοληθώ μιας και είχα καθυστερήσει ήδη τις εργασίες μου περιμένοντάς την και επέλεξα να την κρατήσω.

Μέσα στην τρίτη εβδομάδα όμως νάτο το πρώτο καμμένο πιξελ. Την κοίταζα προσεκτικά και όντως εμφανίστηκαν από το πουθενά τουλάχιστον 12 σημεία καμμένων πιξελ εκ των οποίων στα 3 υπάρχουν συστοιχίες όπως στην πρώτη οθόνη. Επομένως στην δεύτερη οθόνη είχα και καμμένα πίξελ και πολύ άσχημο Luminance Uniformity. Επειδή όμως η χρονική διάρκεια του DOA έχει παρέλθει ίσως να μην μου στείλουν καινούργια αλλά κάποια επισκευασμένη.

Σε αυτή την περίπτωση δεν γνωρίζω τι πραγματικά είναι καλύτερο:
α) Μία επισκευασμένη που όμως γνωρίζεις ότι δεν θα έχει καμμένο πιξελ και ίσως θα έχει και καλό Luminance Uniformity ή
β) Επιμένεις να σου στείλουν καινούργια και παίζεις πάλι με την τύχη σου.

Όπως και να έχει και η δεύτερη θα σταλθεί πίσω μιας και καθημερινά βγάζει όλο και περισσότερα καμμένα πιξελ. Ελπίζω η τρίτη οθόνη να είναι και αυτή που θα κρατήσω.

Όσον αφορά τα χαρακτηριστικά τώρα η οθόνη αν πετύχεις καλό κομμάτι δεν παίζεται. Έιναι όντως ένα μικρό θαύμα τεχνολογίας με ευκρινέστατη εικόνα, πολλά modes να επιλέξεις αλλά και την δυνατότητα να δημιουργήσεις ένα δικό σου. Μπορείς να αποθηκεύσεις μέχρι και 3 modes από τα οποία επιλέγεις με το πάτημα ενός κουμπιού on the fly.

Προβλήματα με freesync που είχα διαβάσει εγώ τουλάχιστον δεν τα είχα. Και οι 2 οθόνες είχαν το τελευταίο bios της εταιρείας που τα διόρθωνε όλα αυτά (Version 1020). Το joystick είναι must για τις οθόνες του είδους και σου λύνει τα χέρια. Τα 144Hz κάνουν τρελή διαφορά στην ομαλότητα της εικόνας και αν έχεις κάρτα γραφικών που να υποστηρίζει τους τίτλους που παίζεις βλέπεις την διαφορά και τρίβεις τα μάτια σου. Έχω βάλει "Έτσι και Έτσι" στην γωνία θέασης γιατί έχει να κάνει με το Luminance Uniformity της οθόνης. Ενώ η πρώτη ήταν άριστη και απ' όπου και να την κοιτούσες πραγματικά δεν καταλάβαινες διαφορά, η δεύτερη δυστυχώς λόγω του έντονου backlight bleed φαίνεται να χάνει αρκετά όταν την κοιτάς από ελαφριά γωνία (βλέπεις δηλαδή τις εστίες του κίτρινου/λευκού φωτός από το περίγραμμα της οθόνης). Οπότε και εδώ είναι θέμα τύχης.

Εν κατακλείδι, η οθόνη τα σπάει ειδικά για όσους έχουν κάρτα γραφικών AMD. Αρκεί να πέσεις σε καλό panel. Όπως σημείωσε και ένας άλλος συμφορουμήτης "βγάζει καμμένο Pixel πολύ εύκολα".

Μόλις λάβω την αντικαταστάτριά της και την δοκιμάσω θα επανέλθω για να μοιραστώ την εμπειρία μου.

Ενημέρωση 05-02-2019: Έχω παραλάβει την αντικαταστάτρια οθόνη της δεύτερης συσκευής. Την πρώτη ημέρα που την έλεγξα η οθόνη φαινόταν λειτουργικότατη και απόλύτως σωστή σε χρωματική απόδοση αλλά και backlight bleed που ήταν απειροελάχιστο έως και μηδενικό. Δύο ημέρες όμως μετά την λειτουργία της, εμφάνισε και πάλι καμμένο Pixel. Αυτή τη φορά σε μαύρο φόντο. Έχω ενημερώσει ήδη την Τεχνική Υποστήριξη της Samsung και αναμένω εκ νέου απάντησή τους. Είδομεν για τρίτη συνεχόμενη φορά.

Ενημέρωση 16-02-2019: Έχω παραλάβει την αντικαταστάτρια οθόνη της τρίτης συσκευής. Ελάχιστο backlight bleed και 4 καμμένα pixel. Σε αυτό το σημείο δεν γνωρίζω πραγματικά αν αξίζει να περνώ την αγωνία της αντικατάστασης κάθε φορά ή να πάω απ' ευθείας σε άλλη λύση (όχι VA panel) μιας και όλα πάνω κάτω έχουν τα ίδια θέματα. Για ακόμη μία φορά αξίζουν πολλά μπράβο στα παιδιά από το κατάστημα που προμηθεύτηκα την οθόνη καθώς και στην εξυπηρέτηση της Samsung για την αμεσότητα αλλαγής. Αν προβώ σε ακόμη μία αντικατάσταση θα ενημερώσω εκ νέου. Κρίμα για τα τόσα χρήματα που δίνει κάποιος να μην υπάρχει ο κατάλληλος έλεγχος ποιότητας... Απλά κρίμα καθότι με τα ίδια χρήματα την προηγούμενη δεκαετία αγοράζαμε προϊόντα που διατηρούνται εως σήμερα επάξια και τα τελευταίας τεχνολογίας που αγοράζουμε σήμερα υποφέρουν από ένα σωρό ελαττώματα.

Very good monitor/ comfortable... nice "touches" and the blue backlight (resembles ambilight but static). It delivers on its promises in terms of speed (both on AMD and NVIDIA, no screen tearing at all). Scrolling/ panning/ clarity and color (impressive).
- In low-resolution content, it "breaks" but magnifies the problem...
- It has noticeable edge bleeding AND clouding (in dark scenes). I haven't been able to fix the apparent gradient banding in shades of gray (not always present, but it exists, I hadn't encountered it even on cheaper monitors)
- Good viewing angle, but distortion starts at 45° (up close because if you move further than 1 meter, everything balances out, something that applies to all monitors though...)
- The stand is "huge" (with a "little" exaggeration, it takes up 50cm of desk depth just for the monitor...)
- In office/pdf/browsers/windows/games, however, you don't notice any of the above, on the contrary, it is very comfortable with convenient resolution and size!
- As for HDR... Windows still doesn't support it...

Very good but... for its price, it shouldn't have these defects (it's a lottery to get a good panel and you shouldn't have to go through the hassle of replacement... it's not a hundred-dollar monitor...)

So, we have and we say in general a very good and honest monitor. The response time is very good, 125% srgb, good viewing angles, nice color, and black due to the VA panel. On paper, everything is fine, but there is a lottery in getting a good panel. The first panel displayed a line of different shades of black in dark scenes and a lot of "ghosting," which was fixed by Samsung's service with another panel. The second panel now has a lot of VA glowing. It will be returned as soon as I find the time. Generally, when the screen is working, it is worth its money, it is really a very good monitor, but I believe that Samsung needs to increase their quality control as the panel is theirs and not AU Optronics', which have the majority of 144Hz and above screens.

PS It has a fairly large base, so if we need a desk with a large depth, it requires some attention in this area.
In summary, it is a very good monitor, but whoever buys it should keep in mind that they may need to change 2-3 until they find the perfect one.
12/10/18 Update: Besides the VA glow, there is now also a dead pixel, so within 2 months, the second screen will have to be returned.
12/2/20 Update: After saying it doesn't matter about the pixel and ignoring it, I thought my troubles were over. On the contrary, now it has developed burn-in. Today it was delivered back to the service for the second time, unfortunately.
So, I'm changing it from 3 stars to 2, as it is now purely a matter of luck and nothing more regarding which monitor you will receive

Very satisfied with the monitor, I saw great improvement in all areas compared to my old IPS (Dell U2713). Excellent colors, very good contrast (more than double that of IPS), deep black (finally saw real black) and very good white, almost zero input lag, and the speed of the image in motion is very fast and clear. It does not have backlight bleeding and IPS glow, unlike all the IPS monitors I have changed so far. The curve it has is nice in feeling, it gives a small sense of depth and brings the edges of the screen to a better viewing angle with the eye, without of course playing a big role. I have not tested HDR anywhere yet.

The only (small) downside is the resolution (2560x1440p) which is borderline for a 27-inch. I would prefer 4K even though there are no 120+Hz options there and I would not be able to achieve such high fps in heavy games.

Very satisfied with the monitor, and for me, S-VA with Quantum Dot (QLED) is now the only way until OLED/AMOLED monitors are released on the market.

UPDATE March 2019: After 16 months of use, everything is perfect, I am very satisfied. I am making this edit to tell you to install the latest firmware update on the monitor with version 1020 (file name m-HG727CCAA-1020.0) which you will find on Samsung's official website along with instructions on how to install it by putting the file on a USB stick. Also, because I saw someone mention unclear text and difficulty reading text on the screen, this issue has been fixed in a previous firmware update. The text is crystal clear, I read on this monitor for several hours every day.

UPDATE October 2019: After 22 months of use, my experience is excellent. Today I replaced it with the new LG 27GL850 (Nano-IPS 1440p 144Hz) and I was disappointed with the image quality of the LG. While the LG is better in terms of motion (no ghosting at all), the image quality of the Samsung, which is two years older, is much superior. I believe that the triple contrast ratio (~2500:1 vs ~850:1) of the Samsung and its deep black make the difference.
