As an Irishman, you expect a flat profile. And that's what you get. The twist is that you get a very clean flat Irish. So, if you're a fan of Ireland, it's worth trying at least once.

  • Smart, clean, and honest whisky.
It doesn't tire, it doesn't try to impress.
For connoisseurs who appreciate simplicity when it's well made.

This particular whiskey is very good for its price. Nice complexity, and it has 3 out of the 4 characteristics that make a whiskey of serious quality: It is at least 46%, it is non-chill filtered, and it has no added caramel coloring. However, IT IS NOT 12 YEARS OLD! Skroutz has made a serious mistake in the description. The bottle does not state any aging years, nor does the Teeling website, and according to information on the internet, it is probably 6 years old. Most likely, the confusion happened because the whiskey was finished in rum casks for 6-12 MONTHS. That's it. Teeling is VFM, but no, you are not getting a 12-year-old whiskey for 30 euros.

You don't easily find non chill filtered (since it's 46%)
natural colour (without caramel colouring) close to €30!
A bit of vanilla on the nose,
a bit of dried fruit and wood flavour
but the alcohol is quite intense.
A little of everything in practice compared to the very promising specs.
It's not bad, but after almost three bottles I decided it will no longer be among my "cheap" options.

Very good whiskey for its price. However, you can feel the 46% alcohol. Especially at the beginning (before you have a few drinks and don't feel the alcohol too much), you can even sense it in the aroma.
Nevertheless, for the 32 € that I bought it, it's worth a try.
