I bought this air conditioner as a gift for my mother about 5 years ago. 9,000 BTU in pearl color. We installed it in her room, which is small, but that’s where she spends most of her time.

I thought I’d let some time pass before writing a review, but I completely forgot. Now that summer is here again and the temperatures have hit the 40s, she told me how lucky she feels to have this air conditioner, so I remembered and decided to leave a review.

So, the air conditioner is the best quality I have personally experienced. Since I live abroad, I only use it when I visit, but I hear what my mother tells me. You don’t feel like something is blowing cold air, you feel like that’s just the room’s temperature. A magical thing. It doesn’t blow air directly on you, there’s just a coolness in the room. You have to experience it to understand.

Even when it’s 40 degrees Celsius outside, the air conditioner works on idle. My mother usually sets it to 25 degrees for cooling and that’s enough. The lowest she’s set it is 23 degrees. Any lower and you just freeze. Besides cooling, it also purifies the oxygen in the room. It has various programs that you can adjust according to your needs. I don’t want to write a long explanation about what each one does, since it’s already in the air conditioner’s description.

Something very important is that it makes no noise at all, as if it’s not there, as if it’s not working. It consumes very little energy. My mother, who keeps it on all day, doesn’t get a crazy electricity bill, and we all know what’s going on in Greece with the energy cartels—I won’t go into that, those who know, know.

Now for the winter, even though it hasn’t been particularly cold in recent years due to climate change, there are a few days when it’s freezing. On those days, the heating also works perfectly, again at 24-25 degrees Celsius, any higher and it becomes an oven! Again, silent, again with low consumption, though not as low as cooling. I think heating requires more energy.

We service the air conditioner every year in April, before the heat starts and before all the technicians are busy. If you buy it, make sure to find a good technician for installation, as this will play a very important role in its performance.

We installed it in a 70 m2 house: Built and specifications of 2007, peripheral municipality of NE Thessaloniki, top floor, horizontal surface, plastic double windows, corner penthouse, with exposed 3 sides of the walls (W, N & E, only the main thermal insulation in the building construction), through the energy saving program, in March 2020 while, along with additional energy upgrades (external thermal insulation of the W wall, inverted insulation of the roof and interior, energy fireplace, awnings and solar panels) the energy performance certificate of the house went from D to A. In the summer it works perfectly, up to +42° outside which we have tested, low-medium intensity ECO, ionizer ON, while cooling the whole house with lowered awnings, half-closed shutters (white), drawn curtains and interior desired setting at +26-28° automatically, but it only works when we are at home (17:30-07:00, every day), never 24/7. It doesn't burn anything, literally! Logical though and expected... For heating now, we have 3 options: Oil (we don't use it at all since the winter of 2021, due to fuel prices), air conditioning, and energy wood/pellet fireplace. The air conditioner is turned on, even in winter, due to work between 18:00-07:00, but never 24/7. When the outside temperature is up to +2° the air conditioner works perfectly, with interior desired setting between +19-21°, automatic, with ionizer ON, while being extremely economical. However, when the outside temperature drops below 0°, the air conditioner pauses (freezes) every 15-20' and enters defrost mode with characteristic noise from the interior and exterior units. From -5° and below, electricity consumption simply increases and this heating method is not cost-effective, as no matter how much we raise the required interior temperature or make combinations with programs and settings, it simply struggles and performs poorly in every case. On the frozen winter days (which for us last at most 2 months) when we are at home for ~10-11 hours it is a necessary sacrifice to choose this heating method or/and seal off a room and the bathroom... We simply wear a wool long cardigan and wool high socks with winter slippers, hugs and setting at 21-24° with the blinds hitting low and the fan accordingly, to efficiently distribute the warmer air. From the frozen winter afternoons of Fridays, when we return until the early hours of Monday when we leave, the air conditioner is completely turned off and the energy fireplace is turned on achieving an internal temperature of +27° throughout the house even if it is -10-15° outside with excellent wood economy. This is our annual cooling/heating routine. We had bought the air conditioner back then, for 1750€ including installation (if I remember correctly, the list price minus our subsidy came to 1300€). For central, southern, and island Greece it is the best choice as there are no extreme temperatures like in continental areas! The interior unit needs a good cleaning once a year. Typical maintenance of the exterior unit once a year, with washing the fan and elements with clean pressurized water from the hose and checking the gases and valves. In addition to the top construction and technology, you also pay for the design here. Finally, because the exterior. The unit is very large and heavy, we did not mount it on the wall but placed it on a metal platform with 4 legs and rubber feet on the balcony to be even quieter, not to vibrate and to be able to wash it without fear of water pooling or dirt blocking.

Very good air conditioner but very expensive price I don't know if it's worth the trouble to pay double or triple the amount many times when there are air conditioners for about half the price or less like the TCL which is 3 plus in cooling and 2 plus in heating. In cooling, it has almost the same consumption as the Mitsubishi based on the annual consumption it writes, it is close to the Mitsubishi and it costs from 470 to 500 euros. I preferred this one for my permanent residence and the TCL for my country house. I will compare them in winter and I will come back. The connection application with Wi-Fi is difficult, they ask for a lot of information, even the barcodes of the external and internal units to connect, and some strange passwords, while the Wi-Fi in TCL is very simple, its application offers the same things as Mitsubishi in settings and moreover, TCL has never disconnected from its application, while Mitsubishi disconnects occasionally and requires me to enter the password again to connect to the application, which also provides some information to a central server in Europe, which sends messages even when it is disconnected from the socket, but they are very confusing and unclear with technical terms that even technicians do not know. For example, it sent me a message that said there is a problem with "ηλιςmik" which I talked to the dealership and they told me that they lost it in translation, there is no such problem. And be very careful with the company that will install all the air conditioners, there is a big problem, they do not use vacuum pumps or use them very little, as a result, you cannot get all the benefits that the manufacturer offers, it is a chronic problem and it continues. In my installation, something went wrong and I am still investigating it. It is better to get a mediocre air conditioner and have a good workshop install it rather than getting an expensive and perfect air conditioner and have a mediocre to bad workshop install it. It will work and consume much more than the cheaper air conditioner. It is not like a refrigerator or a washing machine that you plug into the socket and it works perfectly from the manufacturer. Here, the installation plays a big role and most workshops are subcontractors who sacrifice quality for quantity with tragic results

I have this particular model for almost 2 years now. The truth is, I initially bought it mainly for heating, as the prices of oil were skyrocketing. The truth is, I had to set it at 30° (on very cold days, -2° to 2°) to have the house (68m² with moderate insulation) at a temperature of around 22-24. However, even though it worked almost all day, it is quite economical. I noticed an increase of around 70-80€ (per month) above the normal months in terms of heating. Much more economical than oil. There is no natural gas in the area, so I don't know its cost. I have nothing to say about cooling, as the easiest thing for an air conditioner is cooling. When it is working at the beginning until it reaches temperature, it makes a little noise, not something terrible, of course you don't hear it if you are watching TV or listening to music. I have never heard the external unit, it is really silent. It would be good to clean the internal and external unit every year for performance and hygiene reasons. I believe if it was 300-400€ cheaper, it would be a one-way street in its category, you are simply paying for the design and the Mitsubishi name. Its WiFi works perfectly, setting it up won't be difficult for you.

Overall, the air conditioner is excellent, quiet, and performs immediately, etc. As expected from a Mitsubishi air conditioner. However, it may be a bit expensive for a normal room for which I bought it. Other air conditioners will do a good job at lower prices.

One reason I chose this one is because the other air conditioners in the house are Mitsubishi, and I want to control them through the same mobile application. It also theoretically has a sensor that detects the absence of a person in the room and automatically shuts it off to avoid unnecessary consumption. In practice, I did not see it detecting it, but I did not test it many times since I can deactivate it from anywhere.

Finally, another reason I chose it was because I wanted to get something red, something different. The truth is that in this aspect, I was disappointed as it is not a modern red color. It looks more like an old traditional piece of furniture, as you can see in the pictures. It is not a very modern color.

In summary, an excellent air conditioner in terms of performance and one of the top in the market, but perhaps not as much value for money. If you want something modern, then do not choose the red one and do not expect an elegant compact appearance.

I happen to know that this particular series is the best that Mitsubishi has presented so far.
I bought two units (12,000 BTU) for the living room and bedroom, in a poorly insulated house where heating and cooling are exclusively done with split units. And they perform exceptionally well in both spaces (provided that the airflow is properly adjusted).
The option for silent operation is practically silent (note that the outdoor units, without being more than 2 meters away, if possible, should be at least one meter lower and not touching the wall, as it makes a difference in noise and reliability over time).
So far, during the period they were tested in cold and hot weather, besides their excellent performance, the power consumption was 60% something lower compared to a set (12,000 BTU and 9,000 BTU) that were previously installed.
Their price quickly pays off if you use them frequently or on a daily basis, as in practice they prove to be far "cheaper than the cheap ones", without even considering their excellent performance.
