    I have the corresponding 3Tb disk for almost 2 years, and from my experience with the WD Black series, I know that I bought a truly reliable, fast, and quiet model! I bought the first disk of this series in 2009, which has a capacity of 640Gb, and it has not presented any problems at all! And of course, I use it daily, not just for backup! I recommend it despite its high price, for all uses! It is a fairly fast disk, and since SSD disks are still expensive, at least those with a capacity greater than 500Gb, the black series is the best and most reliable choice for a classic 3.5'' mechanical disk! Of course, I don't put my hand in the fire, since someone can buy a defective piece, due to an error in the production process, but at least for me, who already have three in my possession (640Gb, 1Tb, 3Tb) fortunately, I haven't encountered any unpleasant surprises.

    The 640Gb disk has already reached 10 years of continuous operation without any bad sectors! It has been permanently connected to my PC since then! However, the disks with a capacity of 4 and 6Tb remain at a high price, so don't hesitate to buy the 1 or 2 Tb ones, which are relatively affordable and will securely store your data!
