When you hear Marshall, it means quality no matter which model you get. So, I own the Action III—amazing build with quality bass and very respectable 60 watts, but it's not portable to take with you. That's why I wanted to buy a portable one and I chose the Kilburn II, especially because of the price at €150 on offer. So, on the positives: the sound is exactly the same as the Action III, with a bit punchier bass, while on the Action it's a bit deeper but boomy. Amazing, crystal-clear mids with very smooth highs and with correct tonality and rhythm, even though it's 36 watts. The aux port is on the back and not on the top controls like on the Action, which is convenient for connecting a turntable and hiding the cables. The controls on the Action are not terminal—they spin endlessly, while on the Kilburn they have a start and end. The sound on the Kilburn II is 360 degrees, the look is pure vintage, the BT connects in a second with no disconnections, it works both on power and on its battery, which is very easy to replace when needed. A VFM purchase—I don't think there's anything better at this price

Autonomous and easy to transport, it has accompanied us everywhere. Immediate connection with Windows, Android, iPhone, with the only issue being when two devices are connected simultaneously, it makes small annoying interruptions. Analog sound with excellent quality. Compared to JBL Extreme, it's obvious that the Marshall wins in everything. Very powerful for its wattage and a battery that comfortably lasts a continuous 10 hours. Also, a decoration for the home, wherever you place it, it enhances the space. One of the best purchases

In the first week, it suddenly stopped working on its own as if it burned out.
Fortunately, they immediately replaced it for me at the store.
Unfortunately, after a year of excellent use (it is not portable, it is stationary in one spot in the house and it charges completely), it suddenly burned out again without any reason.

Please stay away from the compared model, it's a waste of money. Better go for a Chinese Jbl.

Furthermore, let me start by saying that it is not a speaker that you will see everywhere like a charge 4. The build quality, although retro, is if not the best, one of the best you will find in portable speakers. Now, let's talk about the sound. I will start by saying that for its size, it offers more compared to the xtreme 2. You might say that the killburn ii is 36 watts and the xtreme 2 is 40. Yes, that is true, but only if the xtreme 2 is plugged in, otherwise it is 20 watts. But a big surprise that I also find is that the speaker has a tweeter along with a bass port at the back, so you have good sound from the back as well. Additionally, the speaker has two different amplifiers. A 20-watt one for the woofer and two 8-watt ones for the tweeters. But just like the xtreme 2, the killburn 2 is 36 watts in a strange way when it is not plugged in, because when it is plugged in, its performance reaches up to 70 watts! Yes, you heard it right, 70 watts (25 from the 20-watt woofer and 15 from the 8-watt tweeters each). And the maximum sensitivity reaches just 100.4 dB from a one-meter distance. Overall, it is the best value for money when it comes to sound. If you are looking for a speaker and simply want good sound, build quality, and battery, get it without hesitation. That's all from me. The sound quality is what one expects from a Marshall speaker at these watts. Clean, it has a wide range, and the settings from the buttons for bass and treble help with small adjustments to everyone's taste. Heavy buttons that give you a feeling of quality. Weighing 2.5 kilograms does not make it portable in the sense that you throw it in a backpack and go, but you can carry it to other spaces, for example, inside the house. A gem in my opinion, and much more powerful than it seems

I would put a star but it doesn't suit my heart for Marshall!
It has nothing substantial to present compared to its predecessor, it is lighter, more powerful and smaller but the differences do not exceed 5%.
It is much uglier because it lost its vintage look and a little more user-friendly in its connections. The removal of the on-off button is a big failure (now it opens like old car cassette players by turning the volume towards high).
In conclusion:
It goes without saying that upgrading from 1 to 2 is NOT worth it.
Centuries ahead in terms of construction quality and sound compared to the competition. The only one playing in the same league in these areas is the HK Onyx Studio 5. Speaking always in the same price range.
