The famous Italian western comic "Tex Willer" was created in 1948. The protagonist of the comic is the Texas Ranger Tex Willer, the brave and honest cowboy, the fearless, classic positive hero who defends the weak and oppressed in the vast and desert landscapes of the Wild West. The American actor Gary Cooper (1901 - 1961) was the model for the creation of Tex and the scenery of his stories was drawn from American western films, especially those of John Ford (1894 - 1973) starring John Wayne (1907 - 1979). Tex, who celebrated 70 years of publishing life this year, holds a significant place in the pantheon of heroes as the longest-running character in Italian comics and one of the most timeless heroes in comics worldwide. The legendary Tex moves in a charming, imposing, and threatening environment that stems from the rich mythology of the Wild West. His stories are set in the 1880s, based in Arizona and extend to all areas of the Far West. Tex married Indiana, the daughter of the chief of the Navajos, Lilith, with whom they had a child, Kit. The so-called Eagle of the Night became the wise and just leader of the Navajo tribe. Lilith died under tragic circumstances and Tex immediately killed the culprits.
In Tex's comic, "Men on the Run," Lilith's grave has been desecrated by some sinful, ruthless, and vulgar thieves who want to distract and remove Tex from the area so that they can act freely and acquire the gold located in the sacred caves of the mountains in the Navajo area, moving through a secret passage that their hostage, Professor Ferguson, discovered. However, all they will gain is fear and bullets from Tex and his men.
