Description & Specifications

The crew of the yacht "Duncan" finds a bottle in the sea containing three notes partially erased by the water. By combining the contents of the three notes, the owners of the yacht, Lord Glenarvan and his wife, learn about the shipwreck of the "Britannia," a vessel captained by the visionary Captain Grant.

They then decide to search for the survivors of the shipwreck across the globe, relying only on the geographic latitude where the disaster occurred. Along with them, they will take the children of Captain Grant. On their journey around the world, they will face a number of obstacles, most of which have been contrived by a cunning adversary.

Will they ultimately find the exact location of the shipwreck? And if so, has Captain Grant survived after all this time? The reader is swept away by Jules Verne on a journey around the globe, following his heroes as they confront storms, volcanic eruptions, shipwrecks, as well as wild robbers, bloodthirsty indigenous tribes, and, above all, the cunning of a convict.

This book is the second part of the trilogy that includes the novels "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" and "The Mysterious Island."
