The double hernia belt with two pads is recommended for the temporary treatment of hernia. An abdominal wall hernia is an opening or weakness in the muscular structure of the abdominal wall. The peritoneum protrudes through this opening and causes a bulge in the abdominal wall. This bulge is usually more noticeable when the abdominal muscles are tightened.

About 10% of the population will develop a hernia during their lifetime. Hernias can occur in infants, children, and adults—both males and females. However, the majority of abdominal hernias occur in males.

The most common location for hernias is the groin (inguinal hernias). Several different types of hernia can often coexist in the groin area. These include oblique, direct hernia, and femoral hernia. Another type of hernia, called an epigastric hernia, occurs in the midline of the abdomen, usually above the navel. Hernias may also occur through the navel (umbilical hernia).

The most common hernias are male:

• Inguinal hernia: Occurs low in the abdomen, in the groin area, and can even appear in infants.
• Epigastric hernia: Occurs along the imaginary line from the sternum to the pelvis.

Predisposing factors leading to hernia development:

• Congenital predisposition (inborn problem).
• Advanced age.
• Poor nutrition (malnutrition).
• Heavy smokers.
• Obesity.
• Constipation.
• Severe or chronic cough.
• Heavy manual labor or lifting large weights.
• Multiple pregnancies.
• Abdominal trauma or post-surgery.
