This is the second one I have bought and overall I am very satisfied both with the speed and the quality of the connections. The only problem is (and this happens on both computers I have it connected to) when the computer goes into sleep mode, sometimes the adapter freezes and requires a physical disconnection and reconnection to work properly.

I bought it for my desktop computer and on two different motherboards it refuses to stay connected as a device on any port. It works by reinstalling the drivers but as soon as I shut down the computer, it's the same again. However, the device works fine on the two laptops in the house (which don't even need it). I wanted an upgrade from the t3u and the old one works better.

If you are in the same situation, get a PCIe wifi card or a motherboard with wifi already on it to avoid having the same issues.

Worst product from tplink, constantly disconnects and the company hasn't released an update since 2018. I bought two and they are both a complete waste of money, almost 50 euros thrown away.

For those of you who experience constant disconnections, put your mind to work a little and don't connect it to USB 2.0 but to USB 3.0 and above.
USB 2.0 has a data transfer rate of around 40 mb/s, which means that if you have very fast internet, for example, over 500mbps, the USB port won't be able to handle it.
In Windows 10, it works great, I didn't even need to install drivers, Windows did it on its own

It does its job perfectly, but it is easy to break/bend, so you need to be careful, nevertheless, it does a good job.

I wonder how I lived all these years without this. I had a stretched cable of about 8m. Due to the optical fiber, I was pulling internet through power line and then a cable to the computer. I spent 20 euros and the rest went into the attic.

Continues to disconnect, unacceptable. All the time you are searching for solutions in forums. You buy the most expensive one to avoid problems and it turns out to be rubbish.

For its price, this particular adapter is not worth it. It has constant disconnections and permanent time outs. I have tested it with native Win 10, native Debian, and 2 Linux VMs (tests on 3 different machines) by pinging and running speed tests, and it constantly experiences request time outs. The exact same test with two other adapters (TP-Link + Alfa Network) had no request time outs. If you are a professional or a gamer, go for another option.

It presented a connection problem on the 2.4GHz (no internet connection) purchased in May 2020. It only worked on the 5GHz, not recommended.

Both Microsoft and TP-Link drivers have serious disconnection issues. I am a network technician and I have tested the device for months. Simply unacceptable. Google is full of forums with people discussing the problems in the hope of finding a solution, but in vain. I am going to purchase another network card.

It was disconnecting and many times the PC couldn't detect it. I updated the drivers with the latest version but still nothing. After updating the BIOS using the motherboard driver, everything was resolved and the antenna works reliably without any disconnections and with great speed. Check your PC first because usually something there will be the issue, not the antenna.

It does not find the 5GHz band on 2 laptops with Win10, the installation was initially done from the CD and from the Win10 drivers, but also from the drivers that the TP-Link service sent me in my email. You have to disable the network card to see the 5GHz band. The WiFi in the picture above is disabled while the one below is active.

From the first day on Windows 10, it constantly disconnects. I bought it thinking it would be better than an old crypto I had. It's not worth it for me. I wasted my money for nothing!!!

Generally, I use TP-Link products and once again I am satisfied. Plug n Play, I connected it and it immediately started working, UNBELIEVABLE speeds, fully utilizing my 50 Mbps connection.

A year has passed since I got it and honestly every time it gets cold and I have to change the position of my computer and make it wireless, I hate the hour and the moment. It randomly disconnects countless times on its own, I have watched a trillion videos, I have changed a billion settings and still it does its own thing. I hope I can at least return it to where I bought it from.. Stay away.

I bought it to mainly use it on the 5Ghz band and it achieves good speeds.

However, I kept getting a constant message on Windows 10 saying that this device will operate faster if connected to a USB 3.0, even though it was connected properly. I read somewhere that if I set the channel width on the access point to VT80, it will stop displaying the message. I tried it and indeed, the speed at which it connected increased significantly and the message stopped appearing.

Owner here for a while. At first, I struggled to find functional drivers. The latest drivers for Windows 10 are problematic, and personally, I found a solution with a workaround. I disabled automatic driver updates through the Windows group policy (only for Pro) and then installed beta drivers from tplink through the device manager (be careful not to install with the driver's exe file), which are provided for the t3u model (same chipset). This resolved the issues and it is much more stable.

UPDATE: After a lot of searching, I managed to find a solution for the high 2000ms+ ping spikes that occur periodically, which are a problem with Windows 10 and not specifically with this adapter. For anyone interested, I am providing a link with the solution.

Maybe one of the best USB adapters that exist, it reaches similar speed to wired connections. I recommend it!

In Windows 10, it automatically installed the drivers and currently it does not disconnect. If it was priced at 15 euros, it would be one of the best products!

I have had it for 2 weeks and it works perfectly. The installation was very easy. Unfortunately, the manufacturer's website has outdated drivers and they probably won't be updated. Microsoft recognized a newer driver for this device and I am using it to operate it.

I haven't noticed any freezing or disconnections. I constantly use it on 5G with a setting I made in the device properties.

So far, I am satisfied.

If you want it for gaming, just stay away from it because of the disconnects it makes and how often it happens is beyond your imagination

PLEASE DO NOT BUY IT!!!!!! The ping it provides is larger than their future (2000+) and it downloads at 33KB/s. While I have a 70ms ping and I download at 3MB/s

Very bad, I received it a week ago and it keeps disconnecting all the time and increasing the ping to the sky. Before, I had an Ethernet cable and I was consistently playing with 50 ping. Not satisfied at all...

Edit: I spent 3 months trying to figure out what was wrong and it turned out to be the drivers... Eventually, it got fixed after a lot of searching.
