I bought it for use in the living room and I wanted something of good quality, practical, and discreet. It meets all three requirements, leaving out the overconstruction. Of course, I limited myself since I left out a 160x80 desk, but the kids needed more space. A few observations:
- The overconstruction may be outdated as no one uses CDs anymore. Additionally, the opening between the two columns is 54 centimeters, and my screen wouldn't fit as it is 55.5 centimeters (a 24-inch Dell). However, the shelf it provides is very useful and relatively spacious. It becomes even more spacious (64x30) if you don't include the metal bar it has (not necessary if there is a wall behind the desk). A printer easily fits.
- The desk surface is 100x53 and not 100x60, which may be implied by the dimensions on eShops. The 60 includes a notch made by the metal backs on the backside.
- The small shelf on the right side of the desk is practical, although relatively small. It would be difficult to fit a printer there, but it's perfect for books. Underneath, I managed to fit my UPS, exactly!!! (23cm width between the legs).
- The pull-out shelf for the keyboard is decent but narrow for a full-width keyboard and mouse. It provides 56cm width, and with a full-size keyboard, only 10cm are left for the mouse, which is a bit tight. I got a 38cm keyboard (Logitech K360), and it's much better.
- The tower base is very spacious (43x25), even for my large tower. However, the 43cm depth is typical as the tower can protrude (mine is 55cm). The available height there is 60cm. If you don't use the base, it goes up by 9cm.
- The desk's glass is glass, 1cm thick, and heavy... the entire weight of the package was from it.
- The wooden parts (the two shelves and the keyboard surface) are laminated and of good quality. On the keyboard surface, in one corner, the plastic wasn't glued well, there was air underneath. That was the only manufacturing flaw I found.
