    A marker didn't work for us.
    The eraser it has is completely useless as it doesn't erase at all, it just smudges and requires a lot of rubbing and force to erase, which is difficult for a child.
    We used a slightly damp cloth.
    It illuminates well and the colors glow perfectly.
