    It is a 2 x 3.5mm plug to 4pin 3.5mm socket converter (as stated on the box!). Essentially, it accepts a 4 pin input (Left/Right audio, Microphone, Ground) and produces 2 outputs, where the green one is Left audio & Right audio & Ground and the pink one is logically Microphone & Ground. I wanted it to connect my hands-free headphones (from my mobile phone) to the laptop, which had 2 separate jacks (1 Microphone and 1 audio-out).

    I note that the microphone volume on the laptop (win10) was very low to the point where the microphone couldn't be heard, but after searching, I found the free software APO Equalizer where I was able to increase the recording volume of the microphone to a satisfactory level.

    Overall, it solved my problem at a very low price, without needing to buy another headset for the laptop.
