In 1879, Lars Olsson Smith introduced continuous distillation, through which he produced Absolut Rent Brannvin. Instead of being distilled three or four times, the vodka was distilled countless times. Absolut Pears is made in the same way. The only difference is the pear flavor, and like the rest of the family, it is also produced in Ahus, Sweden, the birthplace of Lars Olsson Smith. The main ingredients of Absolut Pears are Absolut Vodka and pear flavor. Absolut Vodka is made from water and winter wheat. The water comes from a deep well in Ahus, which protects it from impurities. The winter wheat is also grown in Ahus and differs from other crops: it is sown in the fall and harvested in the same period the following year. In the meantime, it grows under the Swedish snow, developing its hard grains. The use of fertilizers is also limited. The pears are also natural, as are the other ingredients.
