I have it for 2 years. In the 2 years, the Z camera doesn't work at all, the face recognition doesn't work, the wireless charging doesn't work, and the battery dies at 25% and the phone shuts off. Other than that, it's wonderful. Oh, and the fingerprint sensor sometimes works, sometimes doesn't work!

The mobile phone is incredible, I got an LG for the 3rd time in a row despite the negative comments I have heard from so-called professionals. 2 years later, it still flies and performs like a flagship of the latest generation (only missing 5G and 120Hz screen), incredible video in 4K 60fps with stabilization as if a professional is holding it every time, speed, there is no discussion, the phone does not lag at all, everything works perfectly and quickly even 2 years after its purchase at 350€. I don't want to go into details, the negatives are minimal and even today I would recommend it for purchase at 400€, which unfortunately is not available. I am just sad that such a good company left the smartphone sector and unfortunately the only solution now is Samsung and Xiaomi, which never impressed me neither with their speed, which is non-existent except in phones of 1000€ nor in the camera nor anywhere. Unfortunately and fortunately for now, this will be the best mobile phone that has passed through my hands in the last 7 years, especially for the incredibly low price of 350€, especially with what it offers and I hope it will last long enough until something similar comes out. A big mistake that it is not known in the market, it should be at the top, but only a few and good people know it in the end. These are my thoughts, I can't say that I would recommend you to get it in almost 2022 because in about 1 year it will start to be quite old. It wrote history for me, thank you for your time.

Update 28/12/2021: The mobile phone just received an update to Android 11 and continues to divide opinions

For the last 5 years, I have been changing devices every 3 to 6 months. With this specific mobile phone, I am amazed. It has endured such heavy use in applications and gaming throughout the day.
After 1 year of use, I still don't even consider giving it away.
The battery hardly lasts a full day with heavy use, but with such a screen and performance, it's worth it.

Excellent device after 6 months and more of intense use I can confidently say that in the VFM category it is unbeatable. Its strongest point is its camera, which despite the 12mp resolution works wonders and as for video, 4k at 60/30 fps has nothing to envy from a DSLR. Also, its performance in demanding applications and games is highly satisfactory without any lag, with a noticeable increase in temperature. The most intense problem, let's say, is the battery life which without energy saving does not last a demanding day. Finally, the waterproofing is a big positive for such a mobile at 400€ that I found back then.

The mobile phone is amazing, with the Snapdragon 855, OIS, and IP68. The build quality is top-notch, and the daytime photos are better than the Galaxy S10. It can shoot 4K videos at 60fps, and with GCam, the night photos are incredible. It's a flagship device at a mid-range price. Unfortunately, not many people are aware of it and prefer Chinese brands

I had it for 6 months and I regret giving it away....it's fast....the only thing that bothered me is the battery and the music speaker... fast in games...even more in emulators...very good video and photo quality....when I bought it, it was 360€, now at 448€ it's a bit excessive because you can find a decent mobile phone for that price

Flagship, I have been following the Koreans since the g3 and they have not disappointed me.

After 1 year and something that I kept it... I have to say that it is impeccable in everything! It has not the slightest glitch! It is a tool without having to pay a fortune to get it! Sturdy construction, waterproof, video-photo very satisfactory! LG makes very quality devices with relatively low cost but most people do not realize it and fall victims to the marketing of well-known companies! Owner for almost a month and the use I make of it is a little bit of everything on a daily basis, i.e. social, photos, games, and internet browsing.
On the positive side (which are many):

- very fast, runs everything and games in full graphics
- fantastic triple camera both in photos and videos
- very good sound
- screen resolution and quality
- wireless charging
- lightning-fast fingerprint, as well as face recognition in the dark very fast
- LG software impressed me (first time LG owner) without unnecessary things with many user-friendly options (we are also expecting android 10)
- Connectivity, wi-fi, data, gps, and call quality

- In the package it has a silicone case, headphones, and a cloth (all of good quality)

On the negative side:
- battery and charging (2 hours from 10-15% to 100%)

I was significantly disappointed when I got it and it didn't have a radio. To the prospective buyer: If you're considering this specific mobile phone, it doesn't require much thought. Even though it's a 2019 model, this phone offers a lot, things that you won't find in any other phone for the same price in 2020. What do I mean? "Waterproof," "camera with OIS," "wireless charging," and "expandable memory" don't exist in any other phone for this price. There is a similar feature in the LG v40 (but it's a 2018 model). The only complaint is the Android version, but the long-awaited upgrade will come eventually.

So I've been using it for about a month!!! For its price, I think it's the best you can find right now. I bought it for around 340€. It comes with a case and headphones, which is very positive. Coming from a phone with a 2K curved screen, I didn't encounter any problems with the resolution here, the colors are as they should be with many customizable settings to suit everyone's taste, as well as good lighting for using it in daylight with the 1000 nits it offers. The camera is also very satisfactory, especially during the day with good lighting. Now in low light, I would like a better night mode, but the problem is easily solved by using a gcam. The same goes for the video, which especially offers great stabilization in steady shot. The selfie cam also does its job decently to very well, I would say. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the cameras, both in terms of results and the menu, which I find very good with a rich pro mode. The sound is also very good and stereo, with many customization options. Overall, as far as the hardware is concerned, LG has done a good job. Now, in terms of software, I consider some basic functions such as battery percentage indication without swipe down, swipe down to open the notification panel, and dark mode, although the latter can be fixed with... At least, that's what I would like. Now, in the comments of others, I saw some complaints about Netflix or the sensors. For me, both the proximity sensors and Netflix work perfectly and have not caused me any issues so far. With normal to heavy usage, the battery easily lasts a day, offering various power-saving options. After July, we are also expecting Android 10 with a newer UI, so we will definitely see some changes there. For now, I think it is one of the most value-for-money phones someone can get, considering its price and what it offers. I highly recommend it without reservation. PS: It is difficult to find a good tempered glass and cases in Greece.

I will not mention the positives of the phone because they have already been mentioned in the other comments. Indeed, the phone is amazing and unique in its price.
Let's move on to the negatives:
A) It does not have a radio, for those who are interested.
B) Slow charging, takes 2 hours.
C) There is no case or screen protector available externally because they send you ones for LG G8 and not for this phone. The first one was never released in Greece and it is completely different in dimensions. Personally, I have searched everywhere and still haven't managed to find them.

Update: The device after 8 months stopped having a signal. It went to the official service where they informed me that it needs a new motherboard. Ok all good, add in slow courier due to covid it stayed there for almost a month!!!! However, the device is not working properly, as expected for me. It has functional but simple problems that constantly bother you in everyday life. It will go back to the service and there will be an update.

Conclusion: Get a Samsung.

The phone overall is very good, especially for the price it is sold. I will not mention the positives (read other reviews), I will mention the negatives that interest you, without many words.

The battery of the phone saves energy and lasts for 4 days. I listen to music, search the internet, and take photos, with a total daily use of 5 hours (including the LG Health app that reminds me to drink water every hour and do jumping exercises). The camera is excellent, with options like auto, AI camera, portrait mode, studio mode, triple shot, flash jump-cut, cine video, steady cam, story shot, panorama, slow motion, food mode, night view, cine shot, YouTube live, and manual camera. In manual camera mode, there is also a 'graphy' option with various choices like scenery, daybreak, night fall. I really like the sound quality, with DTS X surround sound and 3 options: wide, front, side to side. You can also customize the equalizer to make the sound louder by adjusting the frequencies. Personally, I prefer the 'wide to wide' option and adjust the equalizer to enhance the sound. It is recommended to use a case to protect the phone from accidents and dust. A flip case or similar type of case with a film at the bottom to cover the ports (such as the type C port) is suggested to prevent dust from entering and causing noise when charging.

I would like to inform you that it is not compatible with Netflix. I will come back with a detailed review.

One week update of use.

I will start with the negatives.
- The screen sensor during a call does not always work and I have to open the screen with the side button.
- Facebook has crashed twice, and for one day the screen unlock with fingerprint or double tap did not work for 2 minutes.
- The Bluetooth rarely loses connection, as mentioned in international forums.
- Charging takes 2 hours.
- The included case is thick.
- As mentioned, it does not play Netflix.

Positives (always comparing to the Sony Z5 I had):
- The screen is like day and night in comparison.
- The sound is impeccable.
- The processor speed is very good.
- I have no experience with photo and video editing, but they appear clear to me, with a lot of detail, and bright, etc.
- The menu and Android are easy and practical.
- Waterproof and durable, which is very important for me due to work.
- With open data, Bluetooth, and regular use, it requires charging quite often in the evening. I notice that the downside is in standby mode (it consumes quite a bit).
- Lightweight.
- Price.

I consider it to be a good value for money at the offered price.

Owner of Samsung Galaxy S7 decided to switch to LG based on friends' recommendations who had it and were very satisfied. Indeed, it is an amazing device that leaves a perfect impression with its external characteristics and holding it in hand. The screen is perfect both in image display and touch, even though it is not AMOLED. You get used to the big notch, although it didn't bother me at all from the beginning. It is very fast and doesn't lag anywhere, the sound is the best I've heard from a smartphone, its speakers have very good audio quality, the photos are very good, and video recording is excellent, like a professional camera. Owner of LG G2-G3-G6 I decided to proceed with the purchase of LG G8s 3 days ago. The mobile phone is truly a gem. Very beautiful, good grip in hand although it slips a little and needs attention, very good photos, very fast as well as its screen has very vivid colors. Very good quality mobile with incredible features. Really worth buying this device. The only thing I didn't like is the case that comes with the phone and makes it look bulky. I will of course proceed to buy another silicone case at 0.3mm.

Good evening, I have had the phone for ten days and I test it every day on different things. I will be brief and informative.
Premium construction, in white it is beautiful.
Very fast in everything it runs, I have 150 apps and it is lightning fast.
Impeccable screen with many settings similar to TV colors, true colors not fake like Samsung (previous phone, Samsung S6 Edge) not very bright in the sun.
Excellent sound and from what I read in 3 reliable reviews, it has the quad DAC like the G8.
The stereo speaker works well but does not have high volume, the sound is quality and spreads in the room. If you play hi-res files 24/192, 24/96 flac then you will hear... wow...
The camera is very good and the cameras are very fast, I haven't tried video yet.
Fingerprint is lightning fast, face ID is fast even in the dark, unlocking with palm is not so fast.
Android is almost naked without useless apps like Samsung, it has the essentials.
It's like a jewel, it looks much more expensive than it is, it shines and sits comfortably in the hand, of course it slips quite a bit.
A big negative is that it does not have LED notifications.

It is too big for the hand and a bit tiring.
I had the LG G2 for 5 years and I would still have it if the screen hadn't broken. The battery was still good.
There is no option to choose which SIM card to make a call with at that specific time.
In my personal opinion, it is a big mistake that LG didn't include the LED to indicate if the phone is charging, especially in such a top-notch phone. How can such a thing be missing?
Also, compared to my previous phone, the battery drains faster. Maybe it's because of the large screen, I don't know.
Even if I don't use it, I don't know if something is causing it, but I want to emphasize that I have everything closed.

G2-G3-G5 and now G8S. Never have I regretted owning these phones! With their positives and negatives, I have loved them. I have the G2 with a fully functional but cracked screen, I have the G5 with a fully functional but cracked screen. I sold the G3 and it still works for my friend.

Perhaps out of the whole series, it doesn't have the most powerful speaker, as it had accustomed us to very loud speakers, but I believe it is the cleanest in the series. The camera is once again amazing, without the oversaturated colors that others in its category have. Fast as always. Even more premium feel in the hand. I would say the battery is one of the best for the G series, but let's not kid ourselves, not like some others in its category, but with fast charge, it's not an issue. Easily lasts a day of use. Interesting applications inside for "impressiveness," which doesn't interest me and I don't use them. Double Touch again, the best thing LG has launched in all its series.

As for the negatives for me, the lack of a radio and remote control. I hope they are included in the other series again. However, no matter what, I consider the G series to always be, is, and will be honest. I'm glad we are anti-commercial in Greece. It makes us unique :D

I got it a few days ago... very good... it has an amazing camera, same as the manual mode... the sound recording is great... good hi-fi DAC although it's not the quad DAC, be careful though, it's not perfect... The speaker, although it has good quality, doesn't have a high volume and the fingerprint sensor is difficult to reach in a specific position.
Overall, it is one of the best phones in the market... and in my opinion, it has the best camera... (if you want to get into the mods it has, otherwise if you just want to take good photos without doing anything (and you have money to throw away...), get an iPhone)
Conclusion: Get it!!

The LG G8S is LG's proposal for Europe and the rest of the world in 2019, as the LG G8 was only released in North American countries (USA, Canada) and of course in South Korea.
I have owned the G8S for about 2 months and I can say that I am quite satisfied with the device. I quite like its design and its dimensions make it not look like that classic narrow and long "remote control" style that most modern smartphones have, as it is a bit wider. The screen has a large notch, almost the same size as the iPhone 11 if I'm not mistaken, and the reason is exactly the same. It contains a special camera for three-dimensional imaging of the user's face for a more secure and reliable face unlock. I can confirm that this function works perfectly. It is very fast and works even in complete darkness. This camera is also used for some hand gestures, but because I personally do not use them, I cannot evaluate them. The fingerprint sensor is located on the back of the device and is also fast.
The quality of the screen looks very good and left me satisfied. The colors are very beautiful and the blacks are deep, as one would expect from an OLED screen. The sound is not the loudest in terms of volume, but its quality is very good. The device is very fast in terms of performance, which was expected, as it contains the best processor available at the time it was released. The size of its memory, although it is 6GB and not 8 like other competitive flagships of 2019 (which are sold at almost double the price), is more than enough for our time and does not seem to affect it at all. Its photos are quite good, especially in good lighting conditions, while there is a drop in quality in low light. It certainly cannot surpass the "beasts" of photography, but the results are quite satisfactory. Its UI is not very heavy and does not have much bloatware. I quite like it, but of course, this is everyone's personal preference. A negative is that it does not have a dark mode but a "high contrast mode" which makes the letters orange and does not look nice. The good thing is that in the update to Android 10, there will be proper dark mode support. Speaking of updates, LG is known for the significant delays in the updates of its devices and the LG G8S is no exception. The device was released in the summer of 2019 with Android 9 and is expected to receive Android 10 in the third quarter of 2020 (Q3 2020). I care about getting the update in general, even if it is a few months later, so it doesn't bother me much, but of course, it bothers others. Its 3550 mAh battery is relatively small compared to other phones of our time that come out with 4000+. I cannot compare it to other phones with a larger battery capacity, but I believe that the phone manages it very well and keeps it going for a long time. At least I can get over 8 hours of screen time.
Finally, its price is a strong point. Essentially, you are buying a flagship at a mid-tier phone price.

I don't want to go into details, the negatives are minimal and even today I would recommend it for purchase at 400€, which unfortunately is not available. I am just sad that such a good company left the smartphone sector and unfortunately the only solution now is Samsung and Xiaomi, which never impressed me neither with their speed, which is non-existent except in phones of 1000€ nor in the camera nor anywhere. Unfortunately and fortunately for now, this will be the best mobile phone that has passed through my hands in the last 7 years, especially for the incredibly low price of 350€, especially with what it offers and I hope it will last long enough until something similar comes out. A big mistake that it is not known in the market, it should be at the top, but only a few and good people know it in the end. These are my thoughts, I can't say that I would recommend you to get it in almost 2022 because in about 1 year it will start to be quite old. It wrote history for me, thank you for your time.

Its strongest point is its camera, which despite the 12mp resolution works wonders and as for video, 4k at 60/30 fps has nothing to envy from a DSLR. Also, its performance in demanding applications and games is highly satisfactory without any lag, with a noticeable increase in temperature. Το catch είναι το γιγαντιαίο notch, οι υποδεέστερες επιδόσεις σε κάμερα σε σχέση με τον ανταγωνισμό αλλά κυρίως οι αργές και ελλιπείς ενημερώσεις του λογισμικού της. Η LG παραμένει ίσως η μοναδική εταιρεία η οποία δεν αναβαθμίζει το UI της στα πρόσφατα flagship μοντέλα της, ακόμα και όταν αυτά παίρνουν τις τελευταίες εκδόσεις Android. ΠΧ η πιο πρόσφατη έκδοση στο UI της είναι το UX 8.0 το οποίο κυκλοφόρησε με το G8. Το LG G7 είχε το UX 7.0. Όταν το G7 πήρε το Android Pie, το πήρε με UX 7.0 και οχι με το 8.0! Αυτό για εμένα είναι απαράδεκτο. Βέβαια για να κοίταξες για roms, το θέμα του software μάλλον δεν σε απασχολεί ιδιαίτερα οπότε είσαι μια χαρά. Εμένα πάλι αν και με ενοχλεί ιδιαίτερα, δεν με ενοχλεί στον βαθμό που θα παραβλέψω την ιδιαιτέρως χαμηλή τιμή του σε σχέση με τον ανταγωνισμό και σκέφτομαι σοβαρά να το αγοράσω. Το μόνο ανταγωνιστικό κινητό στην τιμή που βρίσκεται τώρα και με τα χαρακτηριστικά που έχει, είναι το Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro.

Flagship, I have been following the Koreans since the g3 and they have not disappointed me.

After 1 year and something that I kept it... I have to say that it is impeccable in everything! It has not the slightest glitch! It is a tool without having to pay a fortune to get it! Sturdy construction, waterproof, video-photo very satisfactory! LG makes very quality devices with relatively low cost but most people do not realize it and fall victims to the marketing of well-known companies! Owner for almost a month and the use I make of it is a little bit of everything on a daily basis, i.e. social, photos, games, and internet browsing.
On the positive side (which are many):

- very fast, runs everything and games in full graphics

To the prospective buyer: If you're considering this specific mobile phone, it doesn't require much thought. Even though it's a 2019 model, this phone offers a lot, things that you won't find in any other phone for the same price in 2020. What do I mean? "Waterproof," "camera with OIS," "wireless charging," and "expandable memory" don't exist in any other phone for this price. There is a similar feature in the LG v40 (but it's a 2018 model). The only complaint is the Android version, but the long-awaited upgrade will come eventually.

So I've been using it for about a month!!! For its price, I think it's the best you can find right now. I bought it for around 340€. It comes with a case and headphones, which is very positive. Coming from a phone with a 2K curved screen, I didn't encounter any problems with the resolution here, the colors are as they should be with many customizable settings to suit everyone's taste, as well as good lighting for using it in daylight with the 1000 nits it offers. The camera is also very satisfactory, especially during the day with good lighting. Now in low light, I would like a better night mode, but the problem is easily solved by using a gcam. The same goes for the video, which especially offers great stabilization in steady shot. The selfie cam also does its job decently to very well, I would say. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the cameras, both in terms of results and the menu, which I find very good with a rich pro mode. The sound is also very good and stereo, with many customization options. Overall, as far as the hardware is concerned, LG has done a good job. Now, in terms of software, I consider some basic functions such as battery percentage indication without swipe down, swipe down to open the notification panel, and dark mode, although the latter can be fixed with... At least, that's what I would like. Now, in the comments of others, I saw some complaints about Netflix or the sensors. For me, both the proximity sensors and Netflix work perfectly and have not caused me any issues so far. With normal to heavy usage, the battery easily lasts a day, offering various power-saving options. After July, we are also expecting Android 10 with a newer UI, so we will definitely see some changes there. For now, I think it is one of the most value-for-money phones someone can get, considering its price and what it offers. I highly recommend it without reservation. PS: It is difficult to find a good tempered glass and cases in Greece.

Update: The device after 8 months stopped having a signal. It went to the official service where they informed me that it needs a new motherboard. Ok all good, add in slow courier due to covid it stayed there for almost a month!!!! However, the device is not working properly, as expected for me. It has functional but simple problems that constantly bother you in everyday life. It will go back to the service and there will be an update.

Conclusion: Get a Samsung.

The phone overall is very good, especially for the price it is sold. I will not mention the positives (read other reviews), I will mention the negatives that interest you, without many words.

The battery of the phone saves energy and lasts for 4 days. I listen to music, search the internet, and take photos, with a total daily use of 5 hours (including the LG Health app that reminds me to drink water every hour and do jumping exercises). The camera is excellent, with options like auto, AI camera, portrait mode, studio mode, triple shot, flash jump-cut, cine video, steady cam, story shot, panorama, slow motion, food mode, night view, cine shot, YouTube live, and manual camera. In manual camera mode, there is also a 'graphy' option with various choices like scenery, daybreak, night fall. I really like the sound quality, with DTS X surround sound and 3 options: wide, front, side to side. You can also customize the equalizer to make the sound louder by adjusting the frequencies. Personally, I prefer the 'wide to wide' option and adjust the equalizer to enhance the sound. It is recommended to use a case to protect the phone from accidents and dust. I would like to inform you that it is not compatible with Netflix. I will come back with a detailed review.

One week update of use.

I will start with the negatives.
- The screen sensor during a call does not always work and I have to open the screen with the side button.
- Facebook has crashed twice, and for one day the screen unlock with fingerprint or double tap did not work for 2 minutes.
- The Bluetooth rarely loses connection, as mentioned in international forums.
- Charging takes 2 hours.
- The included case is thick.
- As mentioned, it does not play Netflix.

Positives (always comparing to the Sony Z5 I had):
- The screen is like day and night in comparison.
- The sound is impeccable.
- The processor speed is very good.
- I have no experience with photo and video editing, but they appear clear to me, with a lot of detail, and bright, etc.

- Waterproof and durable, which is very important for me due to work.

Owner of Samsung Galaxy S7 decided to switch to LG based on friends' recommendations who had it and were very satisfied. Indeed, it is an amazing device that leaves a perfect impression with its external characteristics and holding it in hand. The screen is perfect both in image display and touch, even though it is not AMOLED. You get used to the big notch, although it didn't bother me at all from the beginning. It is very fast and doesn't lag anywhere, the sound is the best I've heard from a smartphone, its speakers have very good audio quality, the photos are very good, and video recording is excellent, like a professional camera. The battery easily lasts 24 hours, but not with extremely heavy usage. Overall, it is a device that fulfills everything and satisfies everyone. The only thing missing is the radio function.

Owner of LG G2-G3-G6 I decided to proceed with the purchase of LG G8s 3 days ago. The mobile phone is truly a gem. Very beautiful, good grip in hand although it slips a little and needs attention, very good photos, very fast as well as its screen has very vivid colors. Very good quality mobile with incredible features. Really worth buying this device. The only thing I didn't like is the case that comes with the phone and makes it look bulky. Good evening, I have had the phone for ten days and I test it every day on different things. I will be brief and informative.
Premium construction, in white it is beautiful.
Very fast in everything it runs, I have 150 apps and it is lightning fast.
Impeccable screen with many settings similar to TV colors, true colors not fake like Samsung (previous phone, Samsung S6 Edge) not very bright in the sun.
Excellent sound and from what I read in 3 reliable reviews, it has the quad DAC like the G8.
The stereo speaker works well but does not have high volume, the sound is quality and spreads in the room. If you play hi-res files 24/192, 24/96 flac then you will hear... wow...
The camera is very good and the cameras are very fast, I haven't tried video yet.
Fingerprint is lightning fast, face ID is fast even in the dark, unlocking with palm is not so fast.
Android is almost naked without useless apps like Samsung, it has the essentials.
It's like a jewel, it looks much more expensive than it is, it shines and sits comfortably in the hand, of course it slips quite a bit.
A big negative is that it does not have LED notifications.

Negatives
The LED for notifications is missing, which is a big issue for me.
It is too big for the hand and a bit tiring.
I had the LG G2 for 5 years and I would still have it if the screen hadn't broken. The battery was still good.
There is no option to choose which SIM card to make a call with at that specific time.
In my personal opinion, it is a big mistake that LG didn't include the LED to indicate if the phone is charging, especially in such a top-notch phone. How can such a thing be missing?
Also, compared to my previous phone, the battery drains faster. Maybe it's because of the large screen, I don't know.
Even if I don't use it, I don't know if something is causing it, but I want to emphasize that I have everything closed.

G2-G3-G5 and now G8S. Never have I regretted owning these phones! With their positives and negatives, I have loved them. I have the G2 with a fully functional but cracked screen, I have the G5 with a fully functional but cracked screen. I sold the G3 and it still works for my friend.

Perhaps out of the whole series, it doesn't have the most powerful speaker, as it had accustomed us to very loud speakers, but I believe it is the cleanest in the series. The camera is once again amazing, without the oversaturated colors that others in its category have. Fast as always. Even more premium feel in the hand. I would say the battery is one of the best for the G series, but let's not kid ourselves, not like some others in its category, but with fast charge, it's not an issue. Easily lasts a day of use. Interesting applications inside for "impressiveness," which doesn't interest me and I don't use them. Double Touch again, the best thing LG has launched in all its series.

As for the negatives for me, the lack of a radio and remote control. I hope they are included in the other series again. However, no matter what, I consider the G series to always be, is, and will be honest. I'm glad we are anti-commercial in Greece. It makes us unique :D

I got it a few days ago... very good... it has an amazing camera, same as the manual mode... the sound recording is great... good hi-fi DAC although it's not the quad DAC, be careful though, it's not perfect... The speaker, although it has good quality, doesn't have a high volume and the fingerprint sensor is difficult to reach in a specific position.
Overall, it is one of the best phones in the market... and in my opinion, it has the best camera... (if you want to get into the mods it has, otherwise if you just want to take good photos without doing anything (and you have money to throw away...), get an iPhone)

The LG G8S is LG's proposal for Europe and the rest of the world in 2019, as the LG G8 was only released in North American countries (USA, Canada) and of course in South Korea.
I have owned the G8S for about 2 months and I can say that I am quite satisfied with the device. I quite like its design and its dimensions make it not look like that classic narrow and long "remote control" style that most modern smartphones have, as it is a bit wider. The screen has a large notch, almost the same size as the iPhone 11 if I'm not mistaken, and the reason is exactly the same. It contains a special camera for three-dimensional imaging of the user's face for a more secure and reliable face unlock. I can confirm that this function works perfectly. It is very fast and works even in complete darkness. This camera is also used for some hand gestures, but because I personally do not use them, I cannot evaluate them. The fingerprint sensor is located on the back of the device and is also fast.
The quality of the screen looks very good and left me satisfied. The colors are very beautiful and the blacks are deep, as one would expect from an OLED screen. The sound is not the loudest in terms of volume, but its quality is very good. The device is very fast in terms of performance, which was expected, as it contains the best processor available at the time it was released. The size of its memory, although it is 6GB and not 8 like other competitive flagships of 2019 (which are sold at almost double the price), is more than enough for our time and does not seem to affect it at all. Its photos are quite good, especially in good lighting conditions, while there is a drop in quality in low light. It certainly cannot surpass the "beasts" of photography, but the results are quite satisfactory. Its UI is not very heavy and does not have much bloatware. I quite like it, but of course, this is everyone's personal preference. A negative is that it does not have a dark mode but a "high contrast mode" which makes the letters orange and does not look nice. The good thing is that in the update to Android 10, there will be proper dark mode support. Speaking of updates, LG is known for the significant delays in the updates of its devices and the LG G8S is no exception. The device was released in the summer of 2019 with Android 9 and is expected to receive Android 10 in the third quarter of 2020 (Q3 2020). I care about getting the update in general, even if it is a few months later, so it doesn't bother me much, but of course, it bothers others. Its 3550 mAh battery is relatively small compared to other phones of our time that come out with 4000+. I cannot compare it to other phones with a larger battery capacity, but I believe that the phone manages it very well and keeps it going for a long time. At least I can get over 8 hours of screen time.
Finally, its price is a strong point. Essentially, you are buying a flagship at a mid-tier phone price.

The mobile phone is incredible, I got an LG for the 3rd time in a row despite the negative comments I have heard from so-called professionals. 2 years later, it still flies and performs like a flagship of the latest generation (only missing 5G and 120Hz screen), incredible video in 4K 60fps with stabilization as if a professional is holding it every time, speed, there is no discussion, the phone does not lag at all, everything works perfectly and quickly even 2 years after its purchase at 350€. I don't want to go into details, the negatives are minimal and even today I would recommend it for purchase at 400€, which unfortunately is not available. I am just sad that such a good company left the smartphone sector and unfortunately the only solution now is Samsung and Xiaomi, which never impressed me neither with their speed, which is non-existent except in phones of 1000€ nor in the camera nor anywhere. Unfortunately and fortunately for now, this will be the best mobile phone that has passed through my hands in the last 7 years, especially for the incredibly low price of 350€, especially with what it offers and I hope it will last long enough until something similar comes out. A big mistake that it is not known in the market, it should be at the top, but only a few and good people know it in the end. These are my thoughts, I can't say that I would recommend you to get it in almost 2022 because in about 1 year it will start to be quite old. It wrote history for me, thank you for your time.

Excellent device after 6 months and more of intense use I can confidently say that in the VFM category it is unbeatable. Its strongest point is its camera, which despite the 12mp resolution works wonders and as for video, 4k at 60/30 fps has nothing to envy from a DSLR. Also, its performance in demanding applications and games is highly satisfactory without any lag, with a noticeable increase in temperature. The most intense problem, let's say, is the battery life which without energy saving does not last a demanding day. Finally, the waterproofing is a big positive for such a mobile at 400€ that I found back then.
