The kit is the genuine K.N. one for cleaning and lubricating the filter. To keep your filter as close as possible to its original condition, however, cleaning should be done relatively often, or at least after every "hard" use, such as during the summer season. Also, blowing it out to remove the excess and keeping the airbox clean helps a lot. It is logical that if you leave the filter to its fate, the gauze will turn very black, lose its original oil absorbency and filtering performance, and you will use twice as much of the kit material to clean and lubricate it. It is very important that the cleaning with water (after spraying with the cleaner) be done from the inside to the outside. In the long run you will understand why... As for the oil, we spray it with the filter in a very well-lit place (it is better if it is daytime so we can see), and then we spray any gaps we may have left. After that, we wipe off anything that may drip.

It helps a lot after cleaning, as it is the version with the maintenance oil in spray aerosol form. It made a big difference and the oil was spread evenly with the spray

So, the kit is good and it's the only one I've tried for the K&N air filter. My only complaint is that, after watching some videos on YouTube, I noticed that unlike the oil in a bottle, this spray oil does not leave a pink/red color to remind you of its original, new condition. I sprayed a sufficient amount but couldn't overdo it for obvious reasons. Having the filter as it would be installed in the car, it left oil on the paper, which means it had enough, and of course I let the excess oil drain before installing it, but I also left it upside down, meaning from the 'dirty' side to the 'clean' side, so the oil would go everywhere. (We always rinse from the clean to the dirty side with lukewarm water without strong pressure and oil from the dirty to the clean side.) It never became a strong pink and of course it's far from the red color...

Very good product. It seems small in size but is suitable for several uses. I clean it every 5 thousand kilometers. It doesn't require much material, just enough. I will buy it again when it runs out.

It is the second set I have purchased.
I clean the filter approximately every 2 years and the first kit provided 4 cleanings.
For the 5th cleaning, I used whatever was left from the first one and of course started with the new one.
Mine is cylindrical so it requires about double the amount compared to the classic square ones.
Less than 20 euros for 10 years and we are going for another 10.

My objection is not with the cleaner but generally with the High Air Flow filters. I have had a K&N filter in my car for the past 12 years and recently discovered that it allows more particles to enter the engine compared to a regular paper filter.
Since I live in a dusty area, and the minimal increase in performance does not interest me (but I am very interested in the longevity of my engine), I have switched to paper filters for the foreseeable future.

I have the same KN air filter. I put it first in a bag with water and cleaning soap for 3+ hours, then I let it dry and apply the oil. Completely satisfied!

Perfect and both very easy cleaning removes the previous oil and leaves the filter like new and the passage of the oil again is very easy because it is in spray form.

I tried it on an intake KN. It does the job, it's just that the cleaner runs out faster than the lubricant

Air filter cleaning kit that includes cleaning spray and lubricating spray which, with proper use, restore the filter's function (i.e. as it was the day we bought it). It remains to be seen in practice.
