  • Variety

    Cabernet Franc

    Often used in blends with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, but also produces excellent single-varietal wines. It has a lighter body than Cabernet Sauvignon, with aromas of red fruits (raspberry, cherry), characteristic vegetal notes (pepper, tomato leaves), and sometimes graphite.

    Cabernet Sauvignon

    It produces wines with intense tannins, full body, and characteristic aromas of black fruits (blackcurrant, black cherry), often with notes of cedar, mint, or tobacco. They have excellent aging potential.

    Grenache Rouge

    It produces wines with relatively light color, moderate tannins, and aromas of red fruits (strawberry, cherry), spices (licorice, pepper), and often a sense of sweetness, even in dry versions. It is often used in blends and for the production of rosé wines.

    Merlot

    It gives wines with soft tannins, medium acidity, and aromas of red fruits (cherry, plum), often with notes of herbs or chocolate. They are rounder and softer on the palate compared to Cabernet Sauvignon.

    Syrah

    It gives dense wines with rich aromas of red and black fruits (blackberry, plum) and characteristic notes of black pepper, tobacco, or even leather. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with intense tannins and good structure.

    Limniona

    It gives wines with elegance, moderate tannins, good acidity, and aromas of red fruits, herbs, and spices.

    Batik

    White variety from Thessaly; mild and refreshing; ideal for salads and appetizers.

From the valley of Tempi, Dougu winery produces a multi-layered red wine, with body and fruit, based on the principles of organic farming.

The blend includes the varieties Limnio, Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. The wine expresses a ripe yet fresh nose, with blueberries and black fruits, framed by animal and spicy hints. It is characterized by a rich texture, silky tannins, and a long, spicy aftertaste.

The winemaking is classical, with aging in French and American oak barrels for one year and further aging for another two years in the bottle.

It is an excellent accompaniment to red meats cooked with spicy sauces, sausages, spetzofai, and other dishes with strong personality.

It will benefit from decanting before serving for at least 1 hour.
