The book is aimed at those interested in the introduction of modern innovations in information technology and specifically applications of virtual reality (VR) in education. Its goal is, on one hand, to analyze the theoretical framework that supports the introduction of VR into educational practice, and on the other hand, to assist those seeking a starting point by providing them with useful information to make the necessary design, organizational, and technical steps required for the implementation of a VR application.
The first part of the book develops a general reflection on modern education and provides documentation, within the frameworks of learning theories, for the use of VR for educational purposes. It discusses the possibilities that VR offers as an educational tool in comparison to others, highlights the technical difficulties that accompany its applications, and proposes solutions.
The second part presents in detail one of the simplest programs for creating three-dimensional environments and VR applications, Reality Factory. Our aspiration is for the reader to become familiar with VR applications, to realize their attractiveness and effectiveness, and most importantly, to feel ready to develop their own applications, utilizing the "everyday use" electronic environment that is already part of modern schooling.
