Indeed, this Sutra presents almost all the main principles of Mahayana, such as the Doctrine of Mind-Only (Cittamatra), the idea of Non-Birth, the Triple Body of Buddha, the Tathagatagarbha (Alayavijnana), the Tathagata, the One Vehicle and the Three Vehicles, the Five Heinous Sins, the six Paramitas, the four Dhyanas, meat-eating, etc. Essentially, it presents the fundamental principles of Zen teaching. This is why Bodhidharma (the 1st Patriarch of Zen in China) handed it over as the sole text to his successor Hui Ke, and since then it has been considered the Bible of Zen. (...)
