Robert Weil is a producer in Rheingau, Germany. He makes a range of varietal wines considered by many to be some of the best in Germany. The Estate consists of 90 hectares of vineyards, planted exclusively with Riesling. According to the German Law of 2001-02, each wine, depending on the level of grape ripeness, receives a designation.
- Kabinett
- Spätlese
- Auslese
- Beerenauslese
- Trockenbeerenauslese
The Spätlese wines are a step above the Kabinett in terms of ripeness level, thus they are made from late harvest grapes. Here, the fruit begins to take center stage, while the floral notes take a back seat. Since the words Halbtrocken or Trocken are not present on the label, we understand that the wine is moderately sweet.
