General:
I have had it since early January 2021, and so far I am completely satisfied. I bought it for €1300, prices have skyrocketed for some reason with processors, so if you see anything above €1500 it is quite expensive (for example, when I bought the 3960x, the 3970x cost about €1750).
--- Computer:
My computer cost a total of about €5000 (excluding the monitor)
** Graphics Card: Asus RTX 3070 TUF OC (with 2021 prices)
** Main Hard Drive: 970evo
** Memory: Patriot Viper Steel 128GB (4x32GB) at 3600MHz, at 64GB (2 modules) they run at 3600MHz but at 128GB (4 modules) I have to run them at stock 2800MHz because otherwise it is not supported by the processor, it ran at 3000MHz but sometimes it would crash with a black screen. Nevertheless, because it is quad channel, it does not lack in anything.
** Case: Obsidian 750D (behemoth)
** Power Supply: BeQuiet 1500w (totally overkill for now)
And many other things like an additional 10TB HDD for backups, BlueRay Recorder, etc. I made quite a few splurges but I was going in a different direction and found other things in the end because many parts were not available, like I wanted a 3080 and a 1000W PSU but everything was out of stock.
--- Rendering:
In rendering, I come from an i5 with 4/4 cpu/threads and I just feel like the bar glides and goes at the speed of light. In fact, it has so many cores that many programs don’t even utilize them all.
--- Cooler:
I put a noctua cooler on it instead of water cooling because I read a lot about water cooling and fortunately, noctua makes incredible coolers, especially for threadripper. When I built the computer, there were still no AIO water coolers specifically for threadrippers because their plates were small and there were no waterblocks in such size while most are round... is there a round processor and I don’t know it?
Noctua was the first to make one specifically for threadripper with a plate that completely covers the processor and while I had a suspicion that air cooling might not be enough, this beast I installed not only does its job but keeps the temperature as low as possible, if not better than water cooling, due to its huge size, so it has a large metal heat sink.
--- Multitasking?
This processor will be very useful for multitasking with applications that require a lot of power or in rendering. I use it in multi-client botting and open about 30 clients in heavy games and the cpu doesn’t go above 25%.
--- Future proofing
I am sure that this computer I built will be top for at least 10~15 years because no matter how better processors come out, most people do not buy such beasts, so the applications and their requirements never exceed the performance of this processor.

Το έχω από αρχές Ιανουαρίου 2021, μέχρι σήμερα είμαι απόλυτα ικανοποιημένος. Τον αγόρασα στα 1300€, οι τιμές έχουν ξεφύγει για κάποιον λόγο στους επεξεργαστές, οπότe αν βλέπετε τίποτα πάνω από 1500€ είναι αρκετά ακριβός (π.χ. όταν αγόρασα τον 3960x, ο 3970x κόστιζε 1750€ περίπου).
--- Υπολογιστής:
Ο υπολογιστής μου κόστισε συνολικά περίπου 5000€ (χωρίς την οθόνη)

Παρόλα αυτά επειδή είναι quad channel δεν υστερεί σε κάτι.

** Τροφοδοτικό BeQuite 1500w (τέρμα overkill προς το παρόν)
Και άλλα πολλά όπως επιπλέον HDD 10ΤΒ για backups, BlueRay Recorder κτλ. Έκανα αρκετές σπατάλες αλλά για αλλιώς το πήγαινα και άλλα έβρισκα στην τελική γιατί πολλά κομμάτια δεν υπήρχαν, όπως ήθελα μία 3080 και ένα PSU 1000W αλλά ήταν όλα σε έλλειψη.
--- Rendering:
Στο rendering έρχομαι από έναν i5 με 4/4 cpu/threads και απλά νιώθω ότι γλιστράει η μπάρα και πάει με την ταχύτητα του φωτός. Μάλιστα έχει τόσους πολλούς πυρήνες που πολλά προγράματα δεν τα αξιοποιούν καν όλα.
--- Ψύκτρα:
Του έβαλα ένα noctua cooler αντί για water cooling γιατί διάβασα πολλά πράγματα για το water cooling και ευτυχώς η noctua βγάζει απίστευτες ψύκτρες και ειδικά για threadripper. Όταν έκανα τον υπολογιστή δεν υπήρχαν ακόμα AIO water ψύκτρες ειδικά για threadrippers λόγω του ότι τα plate τους ήταν μικρά και δεν υπήρχαν ούτε waterblocks σε τέτοιο μέγεθος ενώ τα περισσότερα είναι στρόγγυλα... υπάρχει στρόγγυλος επεξεργαστής και δεν το ξέρω?
Η noctua ήταν η πρώτη που έκανε ειδικά για threadripper με το plate της να υπερκαλύπτει ολοκληρωτικά τον επεξεργαστή και ενώ είχα μία υποψία ότι ίσως να μην είναι αρκετό το aircooling, αυτό το θηρίο που έβαλα όχι μόνο κάνει την δουλειά του, αλλά κρατάει την θερμοκρασία όσο πιο χαμηλά γίνεται, μην σας πω και καλύτερα από το watercooling, λόγω του ότι έχει τεράστιο μέγεθος οπότε έχει μεγάλο metal heat sink.
--- Multitasking?
Αυτός ο επεξεργαστής θα φανεί πολύ χρήσιμος σε multitasking με εφαρμογές που θέλουν πολύ μεγάλη δύναμη ή σε rendering. Το χρησιμοποιώ σε multi-client botting και ανοίγω καμιά 30 clients σε βαριά παιχνίδι και το cpu δεν πάει πάνω από 25%
--- Future proofing
Είμαι σίγουρος ότι αυτός ο υπολογιστής που έκανα θα είναι top για τουλάχιστον 10~15 χρόνια γιατί όσο καλύτεροι επεξεργαστές και να βγουν, ο περισσότερος κόσμος δεν αγοράζει τέτοια θηρία οπότε οι εφαρμογές και οι απαιτήσεις τους ποτέ δεν ξεπερνάνε τις επιδόσεις αυτού του επεξεργαστή.
