The Killer V pedals are inspired by unique amplifiers born in California, USA, in the 50s and 60s. They feature a distinctive vibrato circuit design with true pitch shift.
With attention to every detail, we reproduce the behavior, sound, and feel of the preamp, phase inverter, power amplifier, and compression found in rolling tubes. By utilizing JFET technology, as well as an internal voltage multiplier for high headroom and the ultimate tone similar to tubes, we have managed to recreate not just the overdriven sounds but also the clean low-gain tones of these amplifiers.
The most important aspect was the simulation of the LFO and dual phase stages to create a pitch modulation effect reminiscent of the real sound. This effect enhances the 3D acoustic image and musical feel. As with most authentic designs, the option to run the direct (unmodified) signal in parallel with the wet (modified) signal has been added, creating whirling phaser/vibe sounds.
